Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIf the rooms had a mini fridge that would have been baller, but I didnt check to see what refrigeration they have if any .
Location was awesome, really close to historic district. The whole place looks so cool and the effort put into it is definitely noticed. This place has so much personality and that is why I chose it over others. The parking was also good. The staff are so helpful and welcoming, it made me feel so at ease and unworried. The deck areas were very nice to relax in and enjoy the weather. They bring the vibes. It was definitely worth it staying here.

BelgiumHowever, there were a couple of downsides. Occasionally, someone would practice the piano, and the sound carried into our room. We could laugh at the endless first notes of "Für Elise," but it did get a bit annoying after a while. Additionally, while the neighborhood is safe and well-connected, there aren’t many activities or attractions in the immediate area.
We had a nice stay at Casa Maguey. The decoration of the place was pretty cool, with so much love and attention to detail put into every corner. The abundance of plants and the terraces made it feel like a cozy oasis. The neighborhood is very safe and residential, with plenty of stores and places to eat within walking distance. Plus, the metro is just a 10-minute walk away, making it easy to reach the city center. They also have a little 'store' in the building, where you can pick up basic items like snacks and drinks and simply leave the money in a box—very convenient.

MexicoNothing to speak of!
Amazing staff, just incredibly friendly and helpful, with a beautiful space. The art and plants and layout are great, it's like an oasis. I really can't say enough about Jimena, Jorge, and Eduardo, they made my stay special. And I didn't get the name of the cleaning woman, but also very kind! I can only recommend it.

United StatesThe security of the property is good. Just several keys to use, and I appreciated the safety precautions.
I would stay here again for future trips to Mexico City. There was privacy with the room and private shower, and helpful suggestions on events and transport options. Safe area even to walk at night. There’s a great coffee place around the corner for the mornings.

NetherlandsCasa Maguey was one of the best places we’ve stayed at in all our travels through Mexico! We felt incredibly at home here. The design is beautiful and we could tell that a lot of love went into remodelling this beautiful traditional Mexican house. The room was very spacious, with a comfortable bed, a great shower, and even a desk. There are two terraces, so enough space to do a workout in the morning or have dinner / drinks in the evening. The owners, a young couple, are very friendly, interesting and ready to give advice on their favourite places in Mexico City. We were allowed to use their spacious kitchen which was awesome. The location is safe and quiet, very non-touristy, but seems authentic with good and cheap eats. It’s super fast to the City center by metro. Don’t hesitate to book!

CanadaNice accommodation for the price. We liked being able to use the kitchen as well as relaxing and having coffee on outside patio. The hosts were great, making us at ease. They also provided good suggestions on local stores and resto as well as what to see in the city. The house is minutes from a great bakery and coffee place. There are many little local resto. House is10 min walk to the metro. This a quiet neighborhood .

United StatesMy room was on the roof and I had to climb two very narrow metal staircases with my luggage. There was nothing in the booking info that gave any suggestion of this arrangement. The woman that was there for check-in did not speak English and my Spanish wasn’t good enough to discuss with her how displeasing this was. I honestly thought I could make the most of it but it got the better of me. I limited venturing out of my room to only once per day as I wanted to limit having to navigate the stairs. This made my stay less than ideal as I prefer to have morning coffee shortly after waking and then get ready for my day. Honestly, I felt a bit trapped. The property is on a gated street. Staff never informed me that gate is locked at 10pm or how I should get inside. I did get a quick response when I messaged for help and was promptly let inside. I wish instructions would have been given to me on arrival. The shared kitchen was very dark, with old and outdated appliances.
The room was clean and there was a very friendly house dog and two cats to pet. There are a number of comfortable patios and many beautiful plants everywhere. Property is on a gated street and feels very safe as did the neighborhood. I think this property is suited to a younger or very short term traveler as it had a hostel feel.
