Expansive footprint with many activities right at the hotel. Food and drinks were all great, everything was clean and well stocked.

    No complaints

We booked a suite with an outdoor jacuzzi. But it wasn’t working at all, and they couldn’t fix it. And on top of that they never offered us to relocate to another room or give us a partial refund because we paid extra to have an outdoor jacuzzi. The hotel is nice, but the management is terrible. We have stayed at most of the Xcaret hotels and it has been wonderful stays but this one unfortunately was the worst hotel we have stayed at in Mexico.

We upgrade for the vip and it was the biggest mistake ever the butler's supposed to take care of you more in personal and they just dont do anything the money you pay for vip is going for garbage. Do not do this mistake of upgrade vip. David and Camila our butler's was useless.

This hotel was awesome. Food and drinks were good, staff was great, parks and workshops were fun, room was big, clean and comfortable. Everyday you received a Mexican treat enclosed in a small weave basket to take home - in addition to your stocked out mini bar and snack tray. You also get to keep the reusable water bottles and beach bag in your room. The communication between me and the hotel via email before arrival was excellent. I was able to reserve activities, airport shuttle, and restaurants prior to my stay. You need a reservation for the restaurant Tah-Xido but it was worth it. I also enjoyed the other restaurants Mercedes de San Juan, Cayuco, and Arenal. The wet bar at the pool was nice and a lot of sitting areas. I recommend this hotel.

It was difficult to navigate the grounds and I had to keep asking for directions. Maybe more signage or even a map stationed like at the parks saying "you are here" would help. There also needs to be a better way to book the workshops. Before flying into Mexico, I tried to reserve the workshops to be advised that I had to do it when checking in. When checking in, I was told that I had to book it through concierge who then told me that I have to book it the morning of. The morning of, I was told by a different concierge that I was to book in advance as they're all booked out. She also advised that some of them require two days when the app stated that it was a one day activity. I asked if I can just go to the class and wait to see if they had a no-show and she said that was fine, so I did. Went to a class and was told that the one I wanted had two openings (not no-shows) so was able to participate. It WAS a one-day class, but I had up my art the next day. The next class I went to attend was cancelled but I was able to reserve for another class that I wanted the next day and there was availability then. He did confirm that it would take two days to complete as I wouldn't be able to finish it within that hour. To sum it up, the information differed from the app, what concierge had, and what the workshops had. The workshop instructors were great and made the process easy and fun. The photo packages are a great thing to have but there are glitches that need to be straightened out, such as missing photos or incorrect photos.

Beautiful hotel, comfiest bed ever and really spacious and great room! The food and drinks were great and service was also very good! Would definitely go back. Do explore the hotel, there are many wonderful spots and activities to be enjoyed.

It was tricky to find our way around the hotel's many buildings and levels. We were approached a few times to be part of a session to show us their new hotel and subscribe to a club, we were also asked by at least three staff members upon checkout, if we would like to buy an extra stay at a discount. Not a bad thing, but just a little annoying to say no to the same thing many times when you just want to relax and use your time differently (and you've already paid a lot to be there).

It’s breathtakingly beautiful. The suites are stunning, the bed had the most comfortable mattress I ever had the pleasure to sleep on. The restaurants on site are all exceptional. There’s a feeling of pure luxury at every corner. From the moment you arrive you feel pampered. Sometimes it even feels bizarre, like a guy sitting in a lonely cove and playing the saxophone for an audience not even visible to him. Art is really not only a selling point there, it does seem genuine.

It all comes at a hefty price. I wish I had known that some of the better restaurants on-site need reservations way ahead of time. This was not properly communicated. On arrival, I called the concierge trying to book tables, and was told they would get back to me, but this never happened. I was happy with dining at the „Arenal“ though, great food and no reservation needed, albeit they might make you wait for a table. I suggest spending the 175 extra Dollars for a night at the Xaak, I loved it and considering the amount I spent for my stay the extra cost did not really matter anymore. What really got me annoyed was that the check out took all in all almost 2 hours. First, I had to stand in line, then I waited for my luggage to be sent down, only to discover it was already there, out in the open with several hundreds of other suitcases. Finding someone who would get me my rental car from valet parking tested my patience, too. This is unacceptable considering how much you have to pay for staying there. Still, these are minor complaints considering the sheer luxury during my stay altogether.
