We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandCould have done with a tv (or a screen to chrome cast to), in the room should a guest choose to watch it in the evening. Unfortunately we didn’t know this but there was no swimming allowed at the local beach or any surrounding beaches due to unsafe currents. But the resort itself made up for this.
Beautiful setting, lovely bure, great food and menu, Salomon and all the staff were very helpful, pool area was fabulous. We loved the resort and would highly recommend it.

United KingdomIt was a lovely escape. As soon as we arrived we didn't leave. We stayed in an incredible room with it's own pool. The service was possibly the best I've ever experienced. The service was the stand-out take away for me... and that's saying something, because the room was exceptional.

United KingdomNothing!
Stunning beautiful and secluded with lots of well-maintained greenery. Unbelievable views out to sea. Very private. Very, very peaceful. Felt like a home. Staff picked up all the details without us having to ask and without being intrusive. The manager was on top of absolutely everything and anticipated every need. He fulfilled every request to a very high standard, and then some. The food was exquisite. The restaurant was open all day and it felt as though we had our own private chef. If we wanted we could walk the short distance to the public beach on either side. We did this less and less and the hotel was such a haven!

United KingdomZoa is an incredible hotel and we couldn't have enjoyed our stay any more. There are only nine rooms, so a lot of the time it feels incredibly private - there are lots of little spots where you can grab a couple of loungers in almost complete privacy. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and each room looks out over the ocean with private views. We got up every morning to experience the sunrise from our balcony. The room was large and simply, but nicely, decorated - all in keeping with the location. We ate at the restaurant several times (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and the food was always excellent. The main reason the stay was so good though is the manager, Salomon. He was incredibly welcoming and friendly, and always on hand to answer any questions we had about the area or to arrange anything (a boat trip, cabs etc.). He really went the extra mile to give us a personal touch, and to make sure our stay was as good as possible. All of the staff were excellent and he obviously runs the hotel brilliantly. Thank you Saloman!

United KingdomIn the room there was no door to the shower as it was open plan, and only a thin half door to the toilet (as the huts are quite small!) so it’s a good job we knew each other well! It’s a shame breakfast wasn’t included in the price.
Amazing location. Lovely views. Staff were exceptionally helpful and always on hand. Service was quick. Food was very good. Salomon the manager was extremely helpful and made our stay great! The massage was also great. We had a fantastic stay.

This location is absolutely stunning. It sits perfectly between Mazunte and San Agustinilla beaches. The staff was wonderful. Manager Salomon provided his WhatsApp address so that we could reach him with any needs. He was extremely responsive and helpful in answering all of our questions. The view from the pool is stunning.

United StatesWe rented a room with a pool. The pool was quite cold and we didn't spend much time in it. However, the pool beds are comfortable and the view is amazing. It was very relaxing.
We did not want to leave. You can sense how special this place is the moment you walk into the front door. The views are insane. They make everything so easy. You are catered to like you are a king and queen. There is a beautiful private beach area. The rooms are huge and have everything you may need. Salomon, the manager, is the nicest and most accommodating host. He made sure everyone at the hotel was welcomed and well taken care of. The area is just a hop skip to the downtown. I loved this place and will always remember this special place.

United KingdomWe did not like the manager salmon advise to go to the beach on the right and not on the left. Because the beach on the right has red flags and very high currents and proved extremely dangerous on our first evening there.
Zoa is located in centre of town. Very close to yoga shala and to two beaches one to the right and the other to the left. Also close to shops. So you have everything you need.

IsraelZoa hotel has branded itself as a “luxury” hotel - thus being by far the most expensive hotel in the area. The word “luxury” had absolutely nothing to do with our stay. Where do I start - the poor service? We had to ask for our towels to be changed, and when we did, it didn’t happen unless we asked again and again. How about the fact that NOTHING is included? We were provided with 1 filtered water bottle a day - other than that - everything requires additional payment. I took a (not-very-good) yoga class only to find out that the place next door charges much less - aren’t guests in a “luxury” hotel supposed to get a good deal? This place does everything it can to make an extra dollar at their guests expense. How about waking up to ants biting me in my bed? Screams luxury. None of the doors actually close properly, so expect some luxury bugs on the house. I could go on forever - but I’ve saved the best for last The toilet door - what a masterpiece - you honestly have to see it to believe it - it’s about a meter tall - like a door in a western movie - that just flaps and doesn’t do anything. My partner and I were on our honeymoon - so romantic having to take turns in leaving the room anytime either of us needed to go to the bathroom. Another thing i wanted to mention was the very impersonal service - the manager Solomon didn’t seem to care about anything we asked for, and was extremely rude when we had the audacity to ask to close our bill 15 mins earlier than expected. The front desk was always empty and in order to get in we needed to shout our room number into an intercom every time. When paying this much i would hope/ expect the front desk not to have to ask me for identification 4-5 times a day. This place has no respect for its customers and puts no effort into creating a personal and memorable experience. Zoa hotel is an absolute scam. Do yourselves a favour and find something much cheaper and much better - Mazunte is full of alternatives.

United StatesThe most expensive hotel we stayed at in Mexico over a 3 week period. Expectations are high when paying this kind of money. Cannot fault the location nor the view. The front desk manager Victor was very friendly as were a couple of the maintenance employees. However the property had a general feeling of malaise. They are obviously in need of some general maintenance. I suspect this has nothing to do with employees but from higher up. Zero sun protection on deck. From sunup to sundown it was too hot to sit outside to take in the splendid views. Construction of our unit allowed very large gaps in the joinery, so insects easily gained entry . We do not have insect phobias , quite the contrary, but they were definitely getting in. The shower looks good in photos , but stepping in and out of it safely is another thing. Took forever to balance the temperature, which makes it extremely difficult to conserve water as the sign in bathroom encourages you to do. I used 10x the amount of water I normally use just trying not to scald myself. The wifi was weak . The main reason I would not stay here again is because I like to wake up early , especially in Mexico heat, and have a cup of coffee . There may have been a coffee maker in room but it was definitely not worth using . A Motel 6 on Interstate whatever , would have a much better room coffee maker. The restaurant by pool does not open until 8 or 830 . So we had to drive into the town, stumble around until we found a decent cup . By the time we returned to the hotel we were hot and bothered . This kind of establishment should have a coffee and beverage station set up so guests can help themselves at any hour. At least put in a Keurig machine in the room . There was no big water jug in room either. Last but not least, the resort manger, or this is who I suppose it to be, could not be bothered to say hello or introduce himself or inquire as to our stay. Despite the fact the hotel was not near full.
The location here is everything. Great views. No beach access so very private. Nice pool.

NetherlandsWhere to start…we’ve been all along the pacific coast near this hotel and this is by far the most expensive one. Complete waste of money. It starts with the “2 double beds” that are advertised that are actually 2 singles - so for 400 euro/night, you need to upgrade and pay extra (!) for another room to get a double bed. Whilst views of the pool are great, you share the pool with vultures that are huge. I do love wildlife, but not in my hotel pool thank you very much. The last night we had a scorpion in our bedroom- whilst this can happen in the jungle, it was not very surprising as none of the doors nor windows are sealed (so animals can crawl in) + there are many ants, flies and mosquitos in the room which scorpions feed on. We asked for a new room after because of the pesticide in the room (to get rid of the scorpion) and all the manager could offer was a downgrade to 2 single beds again. The property was empty (we didn’t see any other guests during our stay + I could still book on Booking.com)- after being persistent the manager suddenly did have another room with a double bed available. Very unprofessional for such an expensive hotel. For this price, hotel lacks attention to detail in cleaning (see pictures). Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else- there are lots of great hotels in Mazunte for half the price and Mazunte town + beach will be a highlight of your trip.
Views of the ocean are amazing. Breakfast was tasty and many options (it does take an hour to prepare each morning).

CanadaUnfortunately, the General Manager - Salomon Groman - will try to scam you. I would avoid this place if you do not want to experience this. I was asked to put a deposit and this was to be reimbursed once I checked out. It's been 3 weeks that I am trying to get my money back as I noticed the reimbursement was not done when it was supposed to be. The manager does not take any accountability and acts and responds in a very unprofessional and disrespectful way. For 3 weeks he's been saying that it will be reimbursed and unfortunately nothing is done. He laughs at you when you say you will report his wrongdoing. It truly shows how much he cares about his clients.. This is very concerning and I hope no one else has to go through that. Take the time to read the negative reviews on google as they describe perfectly the experience of this place, which is too bad because it has the potential to be great. Unfortunately, the management is fraudulent. It really does not represent the beautiful spirit of Oaxaca.
