It was noisy when people walk around due to the flooring which is really disturbing.

We liked the no contact check-in process and they were really helpful in whatsapp.

So basically, in the room without a window, there was constantly wall paint cracking down from the walls so all our stuff was full of it! Also the room was kinda smelly and moldy so book the room with the window! It’s much better. Also, the grab location of the hostel is wrong and when you get there it’s kind of hard to find it as the surrounding is quite shabby and old. Maybe provide some bigger signs! :)

We really like the great equipped kitchen and the water dispenser! Also the shared bathrooms were clean and hot shower water was provided. The communication always took place via WhatsApp and we liked the fact that there were no keys/chip cards needed as there were only door locks with codes. The bed was comfy and the staff friendly. They always checked in on us.

The walls are a bit thin, so could hear quite a bit of noise from neighbouring rooms, but nothing a pair of ear plugs can’t fix!

We had a great stay here. It was easy to locate, with clear communication through WhatsApp. We arrived on bicycles and could store them just outside our room, which was fantastic. Location is great, close to lots of restaurants.

The toilets and shared kitchen were always clean. The room spacious and clean (they always arrange the cleaning service for the room the day after). I’d 100% recommend this place

You can hear everything when other people staying there don’t have an inside voice. Not property fault but we were woken up at 5am by inconsiderate people singing Oasis and then arguing with each other for over an hour.

Not really the hotel fault but our only issue was that the noise from upstairs travels through the floorboards to the bottom floor and ear plugs are provided to help. Unfortunately we had a very noisy person staying upstairs for the first 2 nights of our stay and she was wearing high heels and walking around late at night and early in the morning even when we asked her to take off her shoes

Great value for money standard room. Bed was comfortable. Airconditioning worked well. Never had to wait for the shared bathrooms and the hot water worked well and they were nice and clean. Common area with free bread and coffee/tea facilities. Located in the centre of Georgetown with many attractions located close by. Many restaurants and cafes within walking distance including little India, Armenian street and the Jetty’s. Self check in process was very easy to understand and was sent 24 hours prior to check in. We were able to check in after 10pm. We were allowed access to the communal living area to store our bags after check out as we had a late flight and we were even allowed to hold onto our towels so that we could have a shower and freshen up before the flight - very kind!! Staff were friendly and even had night staff who welcomed us on arrival

Staff were very attentive and friendly, left a note on the bed and came to introduce themselves after we checked in. Room was perfect for us and comfy. Showers were good and it was secure and the perfect location close to the center.

i would prefer if you provided house slippers because for me i get a bit sensitive if i can feel a slight grimey feeling of the floor and after a few nights stepping on the floor i can see my feet are kinda dirty even after stepping out just to use the shared bathroom

i initially booked another one of their property but they were very kind to messaged me that they deemed its not safe due to renovations and offered me compensation with the option of another property or refund so i booked another one of their listings. staff were very attentive and came by personally to check on me and everything that i need. room was huge and clean. the provided facilities are working well.

People didn’t really follow the rules, it was pretty noisy at night, so I had to use earplugs. It felt more like a hostel. But that wasn’t a downside for me. I knew what to expect, and at least it’s something that can be improved 😊

The property was clean and quite spacious! I loved the shared area, it felt like home. The room was also large, clean, and had fast Wi-Fi. Honestly, it was the best place I’ve stayed for a one-night stay. I originally booked it just to sleep before heading to the airport, but I’d definitely stay longer. Highly recommended, great value for the price!

Check out time is too early, maybe 1145 or 12 would be better. Not hostel’s fault, but some uncouth European tourist put his filthy shoes on the kitchen counter (counter was cleaned by staff when they were alerted to the issue)- don’t be that kind of guest people

Nothing, everything was to our liking.

We stayed at 2 different Aayu locations while in Penang and this one was our favorite! It's a bit more quiet near Beach Street, which we enjoyed. The location was really good, near to the jetties and food markets. Wi-Fi was good, the bed was comfortable, and the room had plenty of space. There were plenty of bathrooms around, filtered water in the kitchen, and a nice area to hang out in. They also send you some great recommendations for food and sights to see upon arrival.

I chose this place based on excellent reviews. I stayed here for 4 nights. Aayu beach is like a self check in guesthouse, as no staff here. You will get codes via WhatsApp to open main door & room. Common area of guesthouse is spacious with refrigerator and free water dispenser. Room with window on the 2nd floor is large.

Thin floor leading to lots of noise from upstairs neighbors walking. However they provided earplugs which mostly helped!

Nice location, helpful staff giving good recommendations, good price! They also had free water, coffee and nice coffee/orange bread from the oldest bakery in Georgetown!
