Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SloveniaThe facilities were old, bathroom was literaly faling apart-the walls. There was no tap water, only salt water in the shower. We had 3 huge cockroaches in the room, so it was hard to fall asleep. Electricity is available only during the night time and a few hours during the day, but unfortunately the generater broke down in the middle of the night, so the AC did not work (wich we also paid for) and it was just too hot to be able to sleep good. The brakfast was not good at all, lunch pasable, dinner OK-no fruits?!?! All the snorkeling trips we had to pay additionally, but in my opinion that should be included in the too high price paid for the resort. Definitly not worth the money, the only thing worth the money were the snorkeling trips.
Staff was very welcoming and helpfull. We had the best snorkling guide Nau, he was realy a pro, always happy, smiling and he showed us the best snorkling spots arround Mabul and Kapalai. Location was ok, because if we only made a day trip to Mabul, we would have never seen the local village, all the children and sea gypsies.

DenmarkEverything need to be renovated. The bathroom was falling apart, you can’t get any cold drinks, but must walk to villages to buy soft drinks. Beer is a huge challenge to get! Much dirt on headboard of bed, all in all we never lived as lousy at this price. Food was okay, but very simple. (Only electricity nighttime and a few hours a day)
We were the only guests, strange but funny. Nou the best guide for snorkeltrips. Absolutely loved it! Beautiful location

Germanyyes, the water in the shower comes from a well and it is a little bit salty, but it did not bother us at all, also is is beneficial for the environment and an attempt to save drinking water. also yes, there is no electricity 24h per day, but more than enough to charge all your devices and once again, this is positive for the environment given that most places get their electricity from diesel generators so best to not let them run day and night.
We were very happy we booked a stay here (and can honestly not understand the poor ratings). The booking includes a boat taxi to and from the island, when we arrived we were warmly welcomed and received all the necessary information. The team takes very good care of their guests and grants late check-outs - as a result, our booked room was still occupied, but we received another one which we could occupy for a few hours until we could move into ours. both rooms were cozy, clean and comfortable. The food was delicious and you could choose from a buffet which included fish, meat, but also vegetables, salads and fruits and during the afternoon there is also some snacks provided as well as all day coffee, tea and water. We even received a special plate just made for us since we eat vegetarian food with Tofu and Tempeh (one of the best vegetarian dishes we had during our Borneo trip) The full team is just lovely and friendly, so when arriving we were introduced to the other guests and during the evening there was a birthday celebration from 2 of the guides, so the staff as well as a few locals were celebrating with cake and drinks and we and all other guests were also warmly invited to join the celebration and be part of the conversations. the hotel itself is cute and on stilts with bridges you can watch the sunset or watch small local boats padle by. the restaurant and terrace are the heart of the social area where guests and staff come together and the view is very nice, so we enjoyed especially during the morning watching the boats around us come to life and learn about local life. the booking also included 3 snorkeling trip including gear and fins, in addition we booked 2 discovery dives, the team was knowledgable and again took good care of us so we were able to enjoy the underwater world.

United KingdomTo the previous review, yes there are ants and the electric is cut off for parts of the day but this is expected on an island. The island itself is very expensive to stay generally but we found good value for money here. The bathrooms could do with a little tlc but no complaints, everything was fine and you get used to the salty water in the shower etc, it’s better for the environment and good for your skin ;) Other than diving/snorkelling we didn’t find there was much to do on the island. Very relaxing!
Lovely staff, beautiful place. We spent 1 week staying here and the staff were so friendly and helpful. My husband is a fussy eater and they were able to accommodate for him, thank you! We dived with Otto exploring both Mabul and Kapali, wow! Dive sites are so close all within minutes away. He found so many amazing fish for us to see and turtles.
