Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The aircond remote is universal type.So we tried to set it to function but no luck.We freeze at night as the aircond is set in turbo mode.We just wear jacket and blanket like we are in iceland.The water pump near the place is quite loud at night,but after fall asleep,we dont hear anything already.The water pressure inside the toilet got some kind of pulse,its not smooth like usual.But no problem,as long there is water to use right.
The place is good.Near to every good local eatery.Got private bathroom in each room.Just the size is small.But yes,still have.The check in and check out procedure is fast and easy.Cant say much for the price i pay for 2 night.Worth it and if im coming to penang again,i will consider this place no doubt.

There were kids screaming till late of night (11pm), doing a mess in the common area and it was very unconfortable and annoying. But it was probably also some guests so not the hosts fault. And in the early morning there was a chanting bursting through the reproductors in front of the building, so we didn’t get much sleep as there were kids yelling and running till late night and chanting in early morning..
Nice value. It was basic ok for the money.

Room very small but for short term staying, it is ok.
Great value for money. It was clean. A little far from city but taxi very cheap and there was a bus station 5 minutes away.

Uncomfortable rooms and the bathroom is not built well. Water everywhere, takes long to drain. No vent and no windows.

Constant noise, very close to school loud speakers outside either call to prayer or loud music, some other guests quite loud, til late - advise earplugs if stay here - no sheets or towel change with 4night stay either sadly and bed too hard
Great communication & helpful member of staff whilst we were there... Location pretty good, outside area to sit, community kettle & microwave & equipment etc iron/ironing board available for use too Shops within walking distance, great bakery nearby Jacks food place great! Opens at 5pm & gets very busy, grab cabs cheap, local people very friendly & wanted to talk to us everywhere we went - don't think many westerners stay around there so lots stared smiled and chatted...lovely people in Malaysia

My room is facing a big drain So it’s kinda smell once you enter the room I would suggest you to put an air freshener inside the room

The experience was horrible. The heat in that room was unbearable, and it took forever for the air conditioning to cool it down. On the first night, it took several hours before we could feel comfortable. The location is extremely far, and on top of that, it’s right next to a mosque, so forget about sleeping. The place was really creepy, and we didn’t like it from the very beginning. The bathroom had a toy-sized mirror and was tiny.

Honestly if you are not Muslim I would advise not to stay here they are prayer calling very loud all times of day we barely rest or slept and had to be awake early a few times with no sleep :( also no one told us on arrival that this was the case if we were told we could have made arrangements or been more prepared
