The location is a little isolated but that is part of its overall charm

The old buildings were fantastic, the whole place was so tranquil and relaxing and the staff were all so helpful and pleasant. The restaurant food and drinks were also very good.

All was just perfect! Very nice place, all is there to relax. We lived in an old colonial house. The swimming pool was just in front of the house. Very clean, the restaurant is not expensive with good variety of dishes and drinks and delicious food. The server Miss K tried to be attentive and fast. We were in different places in Malasia in the last 2 weeks, this hotel was the best by far.

Incredibly beautiful, laid back, rustic setting. Love the individuality of the houses and the simple yet luxurious feel to the place. Breakfast was amazing and the staff very friendly and helpful. Location is ideal for a peaceful stay but walking distance to the beach and local shops and cafes. Having the gorgeous cats around was a real treat!

Amazing boutique heritage property! All of the accommodation is unique and beautifully maintained. Staff are not only welcoming but will do anything to make you stay as comfortable as possible. Food at restaurant is of very good quality & staff great. Special call out to Ms K ;) ! Would stay again.

Estates could be more heat insulated to not waste energy on AC. Pool has a bit rough surface making it not that comfortable, but surely better than no pool 😁 Estate also has bathroom kinda connected with bedroom which might be not for everybody. These are just small things, I won't even lower rating - top stay, just to be honest. I'd come back 4sure.

Boutique Hotel with personality. We loved it, renovated older houses, rustic. Delicious restaurant with smiley professional staff. No problem with English. Water refill station. We had fun with quiz day in restaurant and live music night was also amazing.

A little close to the airport but not a major issue!

We had the most wonderful family stay at Temple Tree Resort, and it was nothing short of magical. We stayed in the Jodor House, a beautifully restored 100-year-old Chinese wooden house that’s bursting with character and charm. Every detail felt authentic – from the intricate woodwork to the gentle creaks and whispers of the old timber. We loved every part of it! The house is stunningly furnished, blending tradition with comfort. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the open-air wooden bath was a unique and unforgettable highlight – such a serene and luxurious experience. The staff were outstanding – warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, which made our stay feel even more special. The on-site restaurant was fantastic, with delicious food and a lovely ambiance. And the pool area? Absolutely beautiful and perfect for relaxing. This place has a soul. It’s not just a resort, but an experience – peaceful, inspiring, and full of charm. We had an absolute bliss and would come back in a heartbeat.

Absolute highlight of our stay in Malaysia 🇲🇾. The staff was the kindest, nothing was too much to ask for. Raymond cared soo well for us, even after check out. The resort is in pristine condition, taking you back to colonial Malaysia, without doing any compromise on luxury. Can’t wait to bring my family for our next stay!

We had a lovely stay at temple tree resort. The staff was kind and helpful. Our room was spacious for two people. It’s a short car ride from the airport and we had no problem going by grab to explore the island. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The pool was very pretty but rather small; if one or two people were in it, you wouldn’t be able to use it. Staff seemed under resourced and quite stretched, but maintained warmth and hospitality.

Breakfast was our favourite thing at the resort; baked goods freshly made onsite, local nasi lemak and a daily hot selection. We spent whole mornings chatting and the staff were very gracious to allow us to linger. If you like history and heritage buildings, don’t miss the chance to stay in these well preserved relics and enjoy feeling like you were back when Malaysia still felt young, curious and open-minded.

The room got quite warm during the day, due to its large size and somewhat porous structure (open section on upper wall to bathroom). Otherwise, perfect.

The only small issue is light road noise and noise from adjoining rooms, but that's what you get with traditional architecture

The grounds and the beautiful heritage buildings made this resort a must stay. Each building was unique and different, highlighting a century of malay built heritage, from straits chinese to colonial era. Rough sawn teak, tiled floors and chinese screens provided a tranquil and serene ambience, complemented by wonderful gardens, friendly cats, a beautiful restaurant and a lovely pool for laps. If you like a anodyne, modern, sealed and air-conditioned hotel, go elsewhere. If you're looking for somewhere tasteful, historic and characterful, this is the place.
