How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewEasy to locate and there is plenty of shops near to the homestay. The house is clean.
The flush on main toilet is not working. The AC on first room is outdated and it’s not cold enough. The lights are quite dim which makes ladies to want make up quite hard. The TV remote is not working properly. Only 1 remote has battery so you literally have to switch between 2 remotes.
glad to know it is worth of your pay of 270 for 10 people for a wedding functions and stay, which we know only about the function after asking. minor issue might happen any time as we are a homestay and any of the feedbacks should be on the spot not after, if u need any service. Regards Allan

tq for the honest review. We are honoured to have u and family in our little single storey home. Our price will be one ofnthe lowest but we will not compromise ob cleaningness,, facilities and service. Again we would love to share some of our thoughts on a recent bad review., which unfairly gave us a 4 point 1. Early check in and late check out are subject to availability and extra charges if any. 2. We appreciate bookinh with correct number of guests / would be happy yo free one or two guests head count if u can tell us earlier. Cause as homestya operator, we might not be able to arrange time tonadd bedsheet and other stuffs upon arrival. Dont book for 2 people and show up 10. As there are price difference. 3. We will try our very best to serve you though we are not perfect. Pls do not harm us using low rating for not able to fulfil the special request. Thanks again for choosing us and have a great day

Verified reviewThe homestay in Kangkar Pulai is an excellent choice for a comfortable and convenient stay. Located near Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), it is perfect for students, parents, or staff visiting the campus. Its proximity to the Senai Highway provides easy access to nearby destinations like Senai International Airport and Johor Bahru. The house is well-maintained, clean, and offers a cozy environment with modern amenities, making it suitable for both small families and larger groups.
What I didn’t like about the homestay is that the Coway water dispenser doesn’t provide cold or hot water as expected. Additionally, some of the air conditioners in certain rooms are not very cold. However, this isn’t a major issue since the hilly area keeps the house naturally cool.

Verified reviewTrip of 5 adults & 2 kids, and still have so much space left. Good facilities with washing machine+kitchen+water filter, aircond works well, have youtube channel on tv with fast wifi, water supply okay, owner also nice 👍🏻 also got restaurant & mini market just 3-10 minutes from homestay.
