Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI could have done with some help with options for parking. When I did arrive they helped me with the parking app. The problem is that you can’t use the app unless you have a Malaysian or Singaporean phone number.
Great location. Helpful staff. The reception is not 24/7, but they were very accommodating when I was delayed by traffic.

If you want to stay in a small cozy authentic hotel in the heart of the city, then this hotel is for you. We stayed for 10 days in a duplex room. It has a small shower with a sink outside, but it was important for us to have two isolated rooms, since my husband was supposed to participate in a conference on Zoom, and I was relaxing in the second room at that time. However, if a large bathroom is more important to you, then the hotel has such room with a large Victorian bathroom. All the hotel staff were very hospitable. My husband needed a desk for work, so we asked if it was at all possible to bring in a desk in our room, and on the same day the desk appeared in the room. Also a nice bonus was a free transfer from and to the airport. The hotel provided a supple of drinking water which you could use as much as you needed free of charge. And one more thing: do not miss the opportunity to use the services of a tour guide Lau. Lau is a very good person with a big heart, and thanks to him we were able to see a lot in Penang.

OmanThe old style Chinese house with modern bath room, the cosy little balcony with view to the attic, and the general homey atmosphere were great! We stayed in the Skywalk Suite where it was quiet, and where we could take a rest during the hottest hours of the day.Breakfast was really good. Ms.Jane and Ryan were very helpful and friendly, and we are happy that she recommended Mr.Lau for a private tour. We can just follow the recommendation: we were 1 1/2 days "on tour" with Mr.Lau, he is extremly attentive and supporting, taking care of all your wishes and needs. We learnt a lot about Penang and had unique experiences. When we will visit Penang again, we will repeat this stay.

AustraliaFor our preferences the bed lacked support and pillows were low and soft.
Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful building and decor tucked away in a quiet spot in the heart of town. Generous and tasty breakfast.

SingaporeStaff were very friendly and it was an excellent location. We arranged a last minute tour with Lau and he was great. It was just our family and he customized the tour and took us to eat things and at places we wouldn’t have gone by ourselves. The accommodation is in a shop house and it was very interesting to stay there. Our kids loved it.

Loved the location and the style of the property. Our two story apartment was spacious and in great condition for an old historical building. The street we stayed on was beautiful with colonial buildings, amazing restaurants and lots of bars.

Beautifully styled guest house in a fantastic location. Really comfortable and calming duplex room to get away from the heat of the day. Jane and her team were so welcoming and went the extra mile to accommodate my husband's food intolerances for breakfast. We also booked a fantastic day tour with the lovely Lau through Jane to see more of the sights of Penang - a full on day, so enjoyable.

Everything ......the location at the end of Love Lane is just perfect. Jane ,pae ( I hope I spelt it right) and Ryan could not of been more helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was a memorable event....thanks for that it was very much appreciated. The heritage Hotel oozes character and the interior design is a typical Chinese design dating from the late 1800s. The room was spacious and comfortable and we both slept very well during our stay. Breakfast was nice and I especially liked the Roti bread. Overall I give this property 10 and I would highly recommend that if you want a nice hotel in the centre of Georgetown this is your ideal choice.

Very nice guesthouse located in Love Lane, perfect to do almost everything by foot. The room was spacious, with good air-con and pretty quiet, being the one furthest from the entrance.

United StatesGreat location, near all of the Georgetown must-visit places, including Armenian street, Pinang Peranakan Museum, Blue Mansion, etc. but at the same time, it’s in a quiet section. The hotel itself has historical charm and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They can help you to arrange a city tour. While we did not do this as we had pre-booked another tour, we heard good things about this tour.

IndiaThis is an amazing hotel. 1) Rooms are beautiful and spacious--hard wood floors, brick walls, old architecture (rooms have upstairs and downstairs); 2) Location is perfect--very quiet, yet on Love Lane next to the center of restaurants and night life; 3) Staff is helpful--the manager leads city tours (we did not take one, so I can't recommend, but she gave us great tips on restaurants and activities all over Georgetown).

HERITAGE BOUTIQUE HOTEL WITH MORDERN AMENITIES. LOCATION WAS PERFECT. WALKING DISTANCE TO ALL THE MARKETS, BARS AND RESTAURANTS. BUT FAR AWAY ENOUGH TO HAVE A RESTFUL SLEEP AT NIGHT. I HAD A DUPLEX ROOM WITH A BALCONY WHICH WAS A NICE SPOT TO READ AND UNWIND WITH A COLD DRINK IN THE LATE AFTERNOON. THE HOTEL HAS A LOUNGE AREA IN AN AIRY COURTYARD WHICH GAVE IT A VERY SPACIOUS FEEL. BREAKFAST WAS SERVED HERE EVERY MORNING. OWNER AND STAFF ARE SUPER FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. WILL DEFINATELY RETURN FOR MORE VISITS.
