Not able to stay due to their booking error so nothing to like. At least the staff were apologetic and helped us by phoning other hotels to get us a bed for the night

Due to their booking error, our rooms weren't available when we arrived, so we couldn't stay there and had to find another hotel, despite booking almost a year in advance

Breakfast options were great and it was always prepared in time. The staff is really attentive and rooms are spacious and clean. Bed is great and the pool is a great advantage although not as useful during the winter. Check-in and check out was really good and they were always happy to help. I wish I had tried the massages!

- If you are a late riser, getting breakast is a bit tricky. There is no real control of who has taken breakfast or not, so when I tried to take my breakfast at 9.30 there were no plates or staff around and I had to ask for support. It will be better if they have a control of who has taken the breakfast and who has not, so no one is left out. Breakfast is supposed to be between 7 a.m. and 10. - I had lots of late meetings over the week with my clients and one of the days I arrived at 23.30 there was nobody at the door and despite ringing various times and knocking on the door (and calling the hotel WhatsApp), nobody answered. I was fortunately with friends so I had a place to sleep. When I arrived the next day, they had not noticed that I had spent the whole night out. I was told the guard was supposed to open but I did not see him and my friend and I remained at the door for about 30 minutes. This is a massive issue in terms of security and emergencies, as if you have no place to sleep you are left out in the middle of the night... plus if you are inside and have an emergency, it is impossible to leave the house as the doors had two massive locks. The hotel apologized but I still think this needs to be reviewed carefully.

The hotel is located on a beautiful area, is clean and exactly like the photos. Staff are helpful and very friendly. Would have loved to stay for longer. Caroline was so helpful and kind, obrigada!

I cannot recommend Joli Guesthouse enough. From the moment their taxi driver picked us up from the airport, the service of the staff was beyond excellent. My husband and I were visiting his son who lives in Maputo so we had him over every day and the staff were so accommodating to all three of us. The room was beautiful (king suite) and they cleaned and changed the sheets every morning while we were at breakfast. There was a continental breakfast but you could order something else from the breakfast menu at no additional charge. The pool and outdoor area was clean and beautiful. The staff would set out tea and homemade cakes or cookies in the evenings and there was a small mini fridge of drinks and snacks in the common area. We would absolutely stay again.

It would have been nice to have a mini fridge and espresso machine in our room to keep drinks cool and have access to tea and coffee at our leisure.
