The room was not 40 square metres, as promised, but perhaps 30 square metres at most. In the end of the ramadan, there was quite much noise from the guesthouse's restaurant.

I stayed in Orquidea with a colleague for 9 nights. The guesthouse served its purpose really well, it was nicely located for us. The room was comfortable and it was nice to cool down in the swimming pool. The breakfast was good with lot's of fruits. I was served decaf, but only about half of the mornings. Overall, very good value for money.

They claim(ed) upon reservation that Amex was ok for payment - it was not (April 2025). In many places around here it is not, though. I booked the place for this reason, and to fill the conditions for the Amex travel insurance, so this sucked quite a bit. There was loud music at the pool side in the evenings. The sheets had seen cleaner days.

The room had aircon, refrigerator with a small freezer box and plenty of space. The staff was friendly, though some spoke very little English. That balcony facing the pool area was nice, though almost every night during the stay there was pretty loud music at the restaurant under the balcony. Ear plugs fixed that. Great value for money, good breakfast (though only instant "coffee" was included) and good restaurant. There are also other good ones around.

Made the booking on booking.com and on my side the payment was approved but on arrival we were told the payment didn't go through, but the booking was available. Now problem is that we paid double waiting for a refund not sure if we will get from the bank or guesthouse.

My biggest issue with this accommodation was the amount of mosquitoes in the passages and rooms. My recommendation is to have some sort of repellent (e.g. citronella) in the passages and then mosquito nets in the rooms.

Continuous warming of the snacks at breakfast.

The breakfast was a good start for the day and they were sensitive to preference e.g. hot milk versus cold milk. The place was not noisy and their food was good. The staff were responsive to the needs of the client.

Everything was good, but I would have loved some pao instead of toast bread at the breakfast.

The location is very nice, close to many good restaurants. The hotel rooms are comfortable and so are the beds. Breakfast was good, with fruits, bread, eggs, sausages etc. The staff is super nice, especially Abel was great and very helpful!

The language barrier, someone who knows English must be made available at all times. The person preparing breakfast left prematurely before confirming everyone had eaten, leaving staff to prepare top up food for clients.

Having more kitchen staff. One the last day a few of the guest missed breakfast and there was no one to prepare a qucik meal for them.

Exceptional customer service with the front desk staff being extremely efficient, pleasant and helpful -shout out to Castigo. High quality secure rooms (TV with a variety of channels, consistent WiFi and a clean pool, the balcony view was something else...). and high quality service. I recommend the place to anyone for a stay in while visiting Maputo.

I did not like the fact that I requested my invoice and it was promised to be sent to my email address I provided but, up to now i have not received the invoice. I need the invoice to be sent by tomorrow latest so that I can claim my refund from the office considering that my trip was a business one.

The guesthouse is very good and idealy located. The comfort of the room was great including the wifi. The staff appear to be frendly as well. The place is very clear and well managed.

Breakfast was OK, the guy at reception is very friendly and helpful forgot his name. He went out of his way to help us with everything we asked for. The area is perfect. The food is very affordable at their restaurant
