Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Breakfast could be better.
Clean comfortable room with hot shower. Could walk to the Central Station, Jardim de Tunduru, Maputo Shopping and waterfront promenade in about 30 mins. Decent restaurants and cafes about 5-15 mins walk.

The breakfast is self service - which is fine. However, on some mornings certain ingredients were not in stock.

The property had a restaurant onsite that prepared meals for me for lunch and dinner. The food selection from their menu was diverse, and the food itself was impeccable. They also had a tab system, so I could purchase refreshments from them and order my meals without paying immediately, which was exceptionally convenient. Even though I was in Maputo during the protests, I felt safe during my stay as the property was very secure. The wifi was very good and service from the staff was exceptional.

Good staff and way more recent than the pictures. The staff do all they can to answer to your request (transfer early to Junta for example,...). Recommend

They always speaks their language but how to understand them is hard both the members in the country

As we didn't have a local taxi app (which is impossible to install on the spot if you don't have a local phone number) we were struggling to arrange an early morning taxi to get to Intercape for Joburg but as it was a national holiday the reception was pretty helpless as their taxi contact didn't pick up the phone. Luckily we had a tour with Maputo tours the day before and we contacted our guide and he actually woke up at 5 am to arrange the local "uber" for us. It was super helpful of him but I believe it should be hotel's responsibility to help the guests - but the reception starts working at 7am so if you have an early departure this place is rather to be avoided . The beer at the reception is quite expensive and they charge additionally 5% for card payment.
Location was okay, pretty safe and not far from shops/restaurants, but far from main attractions and sea though. There's an internal outdoor area to hang out. Room was good with working A/C and comfortable bed, but no mosquito net and a lot of mosquitos:) Big comfy shower. Breakfast is self-service and as we had to leave very early both days the security guard was opening the frigde for us an hour earlier than normal hours. The security guard in general was very attentive, always watching for guests to arrive, opening doors etc.

The breakfast must be well served. Also the W.C seat should be properly fixed Lighting at the wash room must be replaced.

It was a bit noisy from the neighboring rooms when opening and closing the doors and chatting. I guess that is not the property fault
Very friendly staff, specially the man doing security is very helpful. The room was well fitted, spacious and everything was clean. The AC was working great.

Hearing noice they said it was they heating pump and changed me rooms which was nice of then you'd still hear it slightly but I am a light sleeper. I had ear plugs with my it was ok
It was in a safe neighbourhood staff were friendly and nice it was value for money It had air conditioning. Rooms have been redone they are much nicer than the pictures

I was put in a room with now working AC and Maputo is super hot. The adapters were not compatible with my devices and they couldn't bother to find some for me I had to buy my own. The TV doesn't work.
Ignacio was fantastic. Fatima isn't badly off but the other lady Nacio is cold. Other staff were quite friendly. There is breakfast as promised, the Wifi is good and the security was great.

When I arrived they weren't ready for me....the WC of the room was dirty. However, they managed to put me in another room. In terms of comfort, I suggest to replace the matress.
The staff is very harm and friendly. Made me feel at home. The receptionists (Nércia, Inácio and Fátima) always ready to help; the ladies who clean my room (Cristina, Guilhermina and Lucrecia) and the boys who open and closed the door (André, Vicente,e Lourenço) thank you for your kindness. The facilities are good and cousy.
