Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThe restaurant service is slow, there‘s always something missing at the table and the buffet and you have to go and find a waiter to serve you.
We enjoyed a private 3 bedroom villa that was very comfortable and beautiful.

United KingdomWe had no power on arrival and for approximately 3 hours following arrival so unable to make a coffee etc. The shower was warmish water but no hot water and no entertainment in the room, ie no TV. When travelling alone, need some means of entertainment/ something to do in an afternoon or evening.
The room was beautiful, and the bed extremely comfy

We stayed at Naankuse over my husband's birthday booking a walking safari and a 'behind the scenes' tour. The staff were delightful and warm. They made us feel really special - baking a cake and coming out of the kitchen to singing happy birthday in wonderful, Namibian-style harmony. Thank you! Walking with our guide in the late afternoon was as absolute delight. Gebhard enabled us to see White Rhino standing in the trees as the sun was getting low - an unforgettable experience. I think it's worth going out on foot and also seeing how the Naankuse charity is run and why it is needed to appreciate and understand what you see.

GermanyFor lunch the offer sometimes a buffet and we preferred just a little snack before flying out which was not possible.
Very beautiful lodge with relaxing atmosphere. Perfect for starting or ending a visit to Namibië. Pool was also very good. We stayed in the chalets, they were very comfortable and had a nice terrace. A morning visit from the baboons was a very fun experience.

GermanyThe whole reserve is spread out quite far. Our house was about 10min by car from the main lodge that served breakfast and dinner. Also there was a funky smell in the house maybe from freshly spraying insect spray.
Thanks for a wonderful start to our Namibia Tour. We selected the lodge based on its location and as we wanted to have some animals at the very beginning for the kids. We only can recommend it. The staff was super friendly, the food delicious and our house more than we could have wished for. We even had some antilopes walking by our terrasse.

BelgiumOn our arrival at the lodge it was quite busy, we decided to have dinner before going to our villa. The buffet however was nearly empty and what was left, was cold. It did get refilled with fresh warm food, but that was when we were already eating what was left… The chairs that night in the restaurant were also quite uncomfortable. However, this was just a one time thing, as the next day the chairs were replaced by comfortable chairs and the food absolutely perfect! WiFi wasn’t working at the villa and mostly not in the main lodge, normally not a big issue, but after spending 10 days in the desert, we were a little desperate to let our families know we were still alive 🙈.
We stayed in a big Family Villa and it was absolutely amazing! We regretted not being able to spend more time at the villa. We had Zebras and Giraffes drinking right outside our house 🤩! The Cheetah experience was out of this world, such beautiful animals! All staff were super friendly (except every now and then one of the drivers) and the guides very knowledgeable.

QatarThey were mostly disorganised at the reception. With the exception of Andrew, most of the staff at the front desk was uncooperative, and may I say even a bit rude. The check-in / check out process was disappointingly difficult, which, in my perspective, doesn't detract anything from the experience but still something they need to improve.
The villa was fantastic with nature surrounding it and animals visiting every day. The different kinds of activities kept us entertained for many days. It is really a magical place to visit and experience. If you like nature and you're visiting Namibia, it's a must visit place in the Windhoek area. Andrew, the manager, was extremely polite, friendly, and helpful, always very keen on sorting everything

NetherlandsNot necessarily something that opposed us, but good to know for other travelers. We stayed in one of the suites next to the lodge. You are in mid nature, so sometimes you could hear some small animals, probably mice, rustle in the straw roof during night.
We had an amazing stay. The staff did everything to make our experience one to remember, like the setting of the room and the table during dinner. We were very well serviced, so thanks a lot NaanKuse!
