Camping in Namibia is just crazy expensive for families.

Shady luxurious oasis after camping inside of Etosha. Private and peaceful, very close to the gate.

I had a wonderful stay at Onguma. It was the perfect place to end my Namibia trip. The facilities were great, the campsites felt private, and the staff were excellent. The waterhole offered amazing wildlife sightings—I even saw two leopards during dinner. The sunrise game drive was relaxed and enjoyable, with snacks and coffee included. The guide was knowledgeable, and the staff made the experience even better. I highly recommend Onguma.

Other than the price (I am on a tight budget!) I wouldn’t change a thing. It was amazing!

I’m grateful I had a bit of a discount through Booking.com, otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to experience this incredible place. Everything was truly special. The staff, the food, the facilities, the ANIMALS!!! Can’t say enough good about my experience. It is a campsite, but the facilities (shower, toilet, kitchen area) make it feel like an outdoor hotel room. Fantastic!

Onguma Tamboti is approximately 100m from the Etosha Park Namutoni Gate. You drive through the Onguma Private Game Reserve to get to the campsite. Each campsite has its own ablution facilities, and the only campsite on our 4 week trip that provided a hose to fill up our water tank. The main area has a swimming pool, and also a bar and restaurant overlooking a waterhole. The waterhole is lit up at night, so you can see the animals drinking water whilst having dinner and drinks. Definitely enjoyed staying here more than what we did in the Etosha NP itself!

Since it's so good it gets very very busy, but not noisy, of course depending of the neighbors.

This place is not a campsite, it's an outdoor lodge. Helpful staff, and by far the fanciest place to camp in. Private bathroom with hot shower, sink for laundry, sink for dishes, sink for the bathroom. Lights everywhere, hose for water and so on. Good place to stop and rest without being bothered about the lion or elephant walking near you.

the food at the restaurant could be a bit better.

my all time favorite campsite in namibia! i wish i stayed longer. the campsite itself is beautiful and secluded, the bathroom is fully indoors, which is great during colder months. the pool area is nice, and the restaurant with a view of a watering hole is so cool! it’s a great spot for a drink with a view. the service was impeccable.

We really liked this camp. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. What we especially appreciated was having our own bathroom! The camp was very nice and quiet—perfect for starting our safari in Etosha.

    Nothing.

This was one of the best campsites we stayed in in Namibia. Beautiful plot surrounded on 3 sides by trees so not on top of neighbours. Clean ensuite facilities with toilet separate from shower - much appreciated! Also nice amount of counter space in the bathroom and cooking/sink area. Main building overlooks a lovely waterhole with game and birds. We had a lovely breakfast here. Very peaceful place perfectly situated just outside Namutoni Gate to Etosha.

Camping in the Bush with next a Lodge linked to glam campsite just a 2 min walk was very special - gave us the feeling of a Lux Safari stay & bar, dinner for our last night outside the North Etosha . Slept under the stars in our roof tents next to our fire after a fab dinner looking out to a small water hole . Will come again !!

Fabulous camps sites & Lodge on a private reserve just outside the entrance of Namutoni Gate - North East Etosha . Had our own Lux 4x4 camp site - shower / toilet & hot water prep & wash sinks & Lux Lodge Bar & Restuarant.

Good camp site with firewood delivered to your site and a well set up BBQ area. Easy walk from reception, shop, bar, restaurant to sites. Loved the morning safari, great guide, we saw loads, included hot blankets, ponchos, good hot drinks and snacks while out. Excellent.

My favourite campsite from the Namibia trip. Charming restaurant overlooking the waterhole. Giraffe came in as we had drinks. Gracious and lovely staff, particularly in the bar and restaurant. Large pitches with your own bathroom and washing up facilities. Pool is clean and relaxing. Loved the cheeky mongoose running around (but they climb into your things if you leave them out!). We went on the sunset game drive and saw lion twice. We enjoyed it so much that we stayed another night.
