We loved Shametu, our tent was on the riverside with comfortable chairs on the decking for us to enjoy the view. The food and staff were excellent and looked after us so well. This was our favourite accommodation during our three weeks in Namibia.

We were in a brand new room that had very little view of the river and it was rushed, so the finishing wasn’t as good as it should’ve been

The all inclusive food was average. It should have been up to the same standard of the location and staff, then our trip would have been perfect.

Every member of staff was incredibly welcoming. The service was excellent and the location is amazing. Our room with a private deck over the river was sensational! Bucket list location.

No Wifi in the Villas….. as the property was almost empty it was disappointing that the rates for river cruise and game drives were so high!

A great place to stay if you’re in the area or passing through. My accommodation price included dinner and breakfast which were both excellent. The lodge was clean and well presented, and the terrace overlooking the river provided an excellent place to watch the sunset with a cold drink. Umm..... Nothing

This was my best experience in all of Namibia. I wish I never had to leave. The location was great, the tent/cabin was excellent. Management went above and beyond to put us next to each other. The staff was excellent, and the food beat any Michelin star restaurant I've ever been too. I can't wait to come back so I could try to spa! The internet is awful, but that's because I was checking in for work. Without work I would not know what a phone or computer looked like :) It's a great place to unplug, unwind, enjoy nature and center oneself. Well wishes to all of the staff Ms. Yolanda, Nandy, Pamela, Ngoyna, (I don't think I spelt that right) Mr. E, Mr. Johnny and all of the others too many to mention.

These are minor points, but while I knew the room was ~60 meters from the reception, it could be good to know in advance that it is also quite steep / hilly.

The staff is fantastic, seems genuinely happy to work here went well beyond the normal level of care. One of us was not feeling well and the manager on duty without hesitation led us by car to the nearby private doctor 10 minutes away. That evening the staff also very kindly brought the meal to the room so the ill person could rest. Beside the staff, the grounds are very beautiful, the restaurant has *excellent* food and the bar area is amazing. We also did a boat trip which was very nice.

Shametu lodge was our door opener lodge into the Caprivi and we did not regret. We had a very friendly stay and enjoyed our sundowner tour on the river and the gamedrive. Compared with other lodges there was no dinner buffet but a la carte and it was tasty every evening.

Everything was literally perfect

This lodge was perfect for us: Our room had 2 twin beds pushed together and the mosquito net over the bed was so luxurious and comforting. This is a tiny detail but I even loved that the mosquito net encompassed the night table along with the bed. The tap water is not drinkable but they provide large water bottles for you. I was pleasantly surprised by the dinner. We even had Zebra steak, and it was delicious. The staff are very nice and friendly. The River deck has lots of seating areas. Perfect for lounging all day and reading. Wonderful views of sunset. The whole area is really well maintained. There are staff taking care of the plant life and fallen leaves constantly. There are some friendly cats on the grounds also. This was just a bonus 😻

Introduction was poor and information unclear. That saying the Manager made every effort to correct the shortfall and was apologetic. Laundry prices were exorbitant.

Property had stunning location on the edge of the Kavangu river. The room was spa ious and provided everything you needed for your stay.
