How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location next to Etosha, the amazing interior design, the food and the tents and the staff was amazing. I really regret that we just stayed for two nights.
Nothing, everything was perfect.

Verified reviewFabulous location close to Etosha Park. Beautiful room with both indoor and outdoor showers. We really enjoyed the food and the service. We booked morning and afternoon safari through the hotel. It was on the expensive side but we had an amazing time.

Verified reviewGreat position, nice intimacy and atmosphere. Nice and small structure, with taylor-made feeling and wonderfully nestled into the bush. The lobby was amazing, while the tents are nice and clean but need a bit of renovation. The property itself has wildlife inside and we have been welcomed by giraffes at the sunset. Amazing. Food is good and much better when served at the table, rather than the bush-buffet, as served at the table was prepared with excellent carefulness and boosted the nice and romantic atmosphere of this nice lodge. They do have also some nice wines in the wine list. Staff is very attentive, but some of them could be a little more friendly and less stiff as sometimes the feeling was like they were doing you a gesture, rather then being glad to host you.
It definitely need a gym and / or walking trails, since after several hours spent into the vehicle on safari you really need to stretch a little bit your legs. The fact that there is no chance to walk or to do gym is a real minus. If they implement gym or trails we will be back to this place definitely, otherwise we must select other location even if with less intimacy and atmosphere. Safety staff should be more present and attentive, since they claim to have predators in the property, but during the late evening they just have a walk around and then they spend time very close to the lobby, leaving tents and paths to the tents without proper guard. Tents are nice and clean but need a bit of renovation (you can see they are high standard, but start to be a bit old).

Verified reviewWe liked everything about the property and the photos definitely do it justice. Amazing staff and service, food was outstanding, just a perfect spot. We were lucky enough to see wart hogs and banded mongoose on the lawn.
Rooms are amazing but just be aware: these are safari tents and if you experience any rain, you may find your belongings are a little damp

Verified reviewEverything about this lodge was very stylish and beautifully presented. Staff were exceptional. We loved the warthogs, dik diks and mongoose who roamed freely in the grounds. The tents had an indoor and outdoor shower which was novel and certainly appreciated the air/con. Was nice to have homemade cookies, fresh milk and ground coffee available in the tent. We loved the napkin rings too !!!

Verified reviewThis was our favourite place we stayed at in Namibia. Staff and service were great. They attended to our room multiple times during the day to open close the windows, getting the beds rooms ready for sleeping while we were at dinner etc. The room very pretty and cosy both with a nice indoor and outdoor shower. The bed very wide and so comfortable, also the duvet and pillows so comfortable. The general areas are nicely decorated and the have a fire in the evening you can sit around for pre dinner drinks, super cosy. The food was also very good. We did a safari excursion booked through the hotel and we got a private tour into the Etosha park and the guide was so knowledgable and friendly. Strongly recommend!

Verified reviewA Beautiful property all around. The main lodge is light, airy, and very inviting. The decor is well thought out too. The tented room was perfect- Lots of privacy and always clean. The staff was incredible and made our stay that much more memorable. Food was extremely creative and fresh daily. We enjoyed every meal! At sundown, the fire is always going… there is just so much attention to detail here. They even arranged a delicious lunch for us our last day since we had a long drive to the next location. We look forward to our return!
Would have preferred a full size bed vs two double beds.

Verified reviewWe stayed for 2 nights after staying within the park for 2 nights. The welcome and facilities in the reception, restaurant area were fabulous. So many beautiful birds near by. The food all excellent. Our room was very comfortable and had everything you could wish for. We woke in the morning with the impala walking around outside our room The pool was a welcome respite from the heat and dust of the game drive. We arranged a game drive with the lodge for our first morning and it was so good we booked on another that afternoon. We saw a lot of game during our drive and enjoyed coffee or drinks during our drive.
The WiFi - only available at the reception area (no problem) but we had some work to do during our stay. Unfortunately this was made very difficult by the poor WiFi.

I didn’t like the thick duvet as it was too hot. There was no alternative ie sheet and blankets.
