Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI requested our room to be cleaned twice, even when they advertised that they did the rooms weekly, if you you wanted more frequently then ask. On day 9 of our stay I asked for clean sheets and towels and for our room to be attended to, but to no avail. We left after a 2 week stay and no room clean or any maintenance whatsoever.
It included laundry, and understood my request for a vehicle. They were great to deal with before our stay.

AustraliaWe loved our stay at Mokutu. We were greeted at the airport by our host (even though our aircraft was 2 hours late). We picked up our hire car with the assistance of our host (car booked through them) and she immediately took us to the local supermarket so we could pick up supplies for dinner (supermarket was about to close and she didn't want us to go without dinner). She then led us out of town to our Chalet. We were taken through where everything was in the Chalet and also a briefing on local attractions etc. Fundamentals like tea bags, sugar and milk were supplied to get us started. The Chalet was private and a quite location overlooking green paddocks. It was about a 5 minute drive from the main part of town which suited us. The pool was being refurbished while we were there and opened the day after we left but it did not impact on our stay. We loved staying there and would stay again in the future. 10 out of 10 from us to the hosts.

AustraliaGood location, nice and quiet and nothing is too far away. Walking distance from winery is a bonus They organised a hire car for me and I was met at the airport to follow back to the accommodation. The place had everything I needed, parking on site, good wifi and the bed was comfortable. Nice pool and garden area, friendly host, would stay again

AustraliaOur wedding guests really enjoyed the accommodation. They arrived as strangers but left good mates. The couple stayed in the master room on lower floor and single guest had their own space upstairs, (3xsingle beds with own unsuit) so all very happy. And the coffee machine is a great addition.

Australiadon't judge this book by its cover. If you're looking for 5* luxury this probably isn't it. First impressions are that it's a bit tired. The longer we stayed the more we enjoyed the space. It's very comfortable and convenient. The two separate bedrooms each with their own bathroom were much appreciated as were the very comfortable beds with many configuration options. The kitchen was functional and the hosts warm and responsive if we wanted extra equipment as we enjoyed eating in most nights. Free Netflix, WiFi and use of the laundry were extra bonuses. We loved the location. It's about a 5 minute drive to Burnt Pine but feels secluded, very quiet and relaxing with an outlook over Norfolk Pines and green foliage to the coastline.

AustraliaThe wifi sometimes wasn't great, but I have found this all over Norfolk Island in general.
Loved our stay at Mokutu. Communication with Troy prior to our arrival was fantastic. A hire car was easily organised for us, and we were met at the airport and shown back to Mokutu and also received a quick tour of the accommodation and other facilities of the property. We found everything to be very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was small but adequate for cooking; we cooked many breakfasts and dinners. Loved having a proper coffee machine for the slow mornings when we didn't feel like driving into town. Having an on-site salt pool was fantastic for days when the low tide in Emily Bay didn't work for our schedule. There was a laundry available to use was perfect for us as we had a longer stay. Some areas look a bit tired but it's obvious that things are being upgraded over time (we had a new kitchen area in out unit for example). The property is very quiet and peaceful, with great views of sunset. We stayed in an A-frame and found it perfect for our 10 night stay.

AustraliaPerhaps a new BBQ would be good. Old ones were not really useable. Apart from that the place was fine.
The property was quiet with all you would need for a week's stay. Bed was very comfortable, and bathroom/shower was fine. Pool was OK and only about 5 mins drive to Burnt Pine and restaurants & shops. Troy & Cherie were great with the pick-up and help around the site. Gave good suggestions on what to see.

AustraliaIt is a bit dated, the shower upstairs had water squirting out in all directions and constantly dripped. The beds upstairs were not very comfortable & there were some dirty marks on the pillowcases. We were a family of 3 adults so used the upstairs which I think has been decorated (beds) with children in mind.
It was a nice location and outlook. The people running it were very friendly & nice.

New ZealandWe were sure we booked the A-Frame Villas but we were put in budget 2 bedroom accommodation. This was quite old and dated. It needed a real good clean. Swimming pool was having maintenance issues. We weren’t told this when we booked, so couldn’t use it. We paid the same amount per night here as our second lot of accommodation which was far more superior.
Very quiet and friendly staff. Lovely views. Owner was lovely brought us morning tea most mornings. Wifi was great.
