The reservation process is not very straightforward. They have several numbers on their website for reservation and only one of the numbers works (but there is no one to attend to you after 5pm, which logically is the period when most folks get off work and can actually create time to make a hotel reservation for a trip, so this was very disappointing). In addition, i made a reservation on Booking.com with my VISA card but received an email from the property stating i should make payment to their bank account otherwise the reservation would not be complete. This would be very challenging for folks who do not have a local bank account in Nigeria (i was lucky to have an account in Nigeria but i am sure there are several folks who are challenged with this). The rooms were okay but a couple of things stood out which i did not like: 1. The thick curtains in the room could not be pulled open to get some light into the room in the morning, you literally have to find a way to open the curtain to get some light into the room (not the usual curtains which just slide and open once you pull). This was frustrating. 2. There was no trash can in the bathroom - i believe this is basic and all hotel rooms should have a trash can in the room and in the bathroom 3. there was no soap holder in the shower area, so you either had to put the body wash bottle on the floor while taking your shower or hold it in your hand. this is basic and should be fixed 4. the tables in the restaurant are not cleaned immediately when other guests leave the table, so i found myself on several occasions cleaning the table myself to make it comfortable before we ate. Great property but all these things that cause discomfort to the guests should be fixed quickly.

Overall, Lakowe Lakes is a great getaway if you need some quiet time in nature and away from the buzz of the city. The facility is well planned and the golf course is spectacular. It has several patches of the lake cutting across the golf course which makes for an amazing and relaxing view. The facility is well kept and the staff were generally helpful. I will go back there again for golf and a getaway from the buzz of the city. The architecture of the facility is brilliant and i was quite impressed.

I have been to Lakowe multiple times, but all for work. It is great if you need a quiet and serene place to work. However, this time, I went with my spouse. It is not great as a romantic getaway. When I go for work, I don't notice the limited breakfast service (takes them a long time to get you anything outside of the breakfast buffet), or the mediocre service quality (you will give up and have to walk a distance to the reception).

We suffered power outages throughout our stay, some lasting up to 20 mins. Internet was really bad some of the times. Our booking was cancelled on our way to the location. The property is deep along the Lekki peninsular, however the pricing is similar to properties in Ikoyi. VI and Lekki Phase 1 (the heart of Lagos high brow living). A lower pricing more realistic pricing for the quality of service provided and the location of the resort would make it a much better deal. IMHO

Breakfast was great, the estate is absolutely stunning! Our booking was cancelled without our knowledge. This was however resolved on site and we got an upgrade to a stunning 2 bedroom duplex.

The staff on the golf cause were quite arrogant, it took us almost 4 hours to check into our room. The light kept going on and off a lot of the time during our stay. There’s also a lack of coordination between the golf section and the hotel.

You can only get to the reception through a mobile call and the network was always bad. I sent WhatsApp messages and got no feedback. The bathroom had no towel hangers, hooks etc. The soap dish was single and small. No information or guide on how to use facilities provided in the room. Guests had to figure it out. If one is not familiar, it would just be there and not be used. The hallway to my room was dark at night as the light fitting was not provided.

The ambience, the fitted and functional kitchen, the comfortable bedroom, and the size of the bathroom. This made it feel like home for me. The security was great.

I asked to speak to the manager to discuss some items in a productive way...only to be left waiting. so will need to comment here Booking.com states check out from 12:00 to 14:00. This is not true. No information provided at checkin. please inform people it is 12:00 Staff competence and friendliness = below standard for what this hotel says it to be. Asked what the soup was from waiter...it was "Cream corn soup" only to receive it with chicken. Vegetarians please take extra caution. Very poor communication from staff on important information No cold "Coca cola"? this is a joke as Coca Cola were having a conference at the hotel. Attention to detail = no Questionable stains on duvet cover. this was replaced by staff Nespresso/coffee machine in room but no coffee provided Peace and tranquility = no Being woken up at 3:45am by staff vacuuming the corridor. I complained and they stopped, then staff start again at 7am. So if you want to sleep and rest.......do not stay here. Sorry Mr manager, I tried to talk to you in private

Showers were horrible. Black and mouldy. The sofas were musty while the bedding was comfy. Not enough linen.maintenance is an issue

The tennis facilities were out of action. The food (breakfast) and dinner (by the pool) could have been better.

A lovely location and the room (Cottage) was excellent. Well furnished and good facilities. The golf driving range was very good and the pool area very good also. All the staff were polite and helpful.

There were loads of thing advertised in the facility that wasn't working,on getting there they tried giving us a different accommodation to what we paid for,then I was told I will have to pay an extra $58 per night for it.It took over 2 hours to check in .The shower wasn't working properly(spitting water with low pressure)the air conditioner downstairs was flooding the living room.The cart to convey us was a hassle because it didn't come at times,we missed breakfast on one occasion,The bicycles and scooter advertised were all broken (Death trap ).The power went off up to 6 times on the first night.No staff at the sports Center bar to serve us.The buffet had limited choice.Overall waste of money .The place has potentials to make a lot of money but the maintiance and process is what is lacking.Its baffling that you have to rely on a WhatsApp chat to communicate with reception

The staff need to be more responsive and must also be guided on seeking out monetary tips from guests. Lakowe Resort needs more means of transportation within the facility for guests who have no means of mobility. Without a means of mobility and delayed shuttle services, we could not engage in a lot of activities.

The location is serene and gives the comfort of home away from home. We had an incredible lake side view and it was amazing.

The hospitality is poor. There is no communications across reservations and check in. They have no business being on reservation platforms if they can't secure your reservation. There is no landline in the rooms to reach the front desk. I felt I worked more than relaxed.

The grounds are kept beautifully. The person who took me on a golf tour was lovely.
