How guest reviews work

We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Verified reviewWe were looking forward to staying here as a treat. However the hotel has really seen its heyday. There are huge and much needed renovations going on at the moment but there was no warning of this. The site is extremely secure but I was more worried about hanging wires, unclean toilets and cracked windows! The staff were helpful and friendly but always expected a tip which does become tedious. There are a huge amount of surplus staff who will jump in to press the lift button, hold a door open, push your luggage that you’re already pushing, give you directions, pull a chair out. All very nice but they expect money for it!! Every time you put your luggage through the x-ray, the guard sitting down asks for a tip! The grounds are stunning and are its saving grace though it isn’t overly easy to access them due to the renovations e.g. you can’t walk from your room to the pool in your swimming gear! The breakfast buffet and Sunday brunch were also exceptional so if you can ignore the room standard, it doesn’t still makes for a great stay. It’s very centrally located but it’s unwise to venture outside the grounds without a car. There is definitely better in Abuja at the moment.

Room was constantly cold even with the AC off, room service very slow, hotel facilities need better signage, due to remodeling many places are sealed off or under construction, bit pricey for what they offer but that's normal from hotel chains in the country

Verified reviewGreat location, clean rooms, very polite and accommodating personnel. 4 bottles of water per day per room. Breakfast included is good with a great variety! great gym and swimming pool area.
It is under reconstruction, and there is dust, a paint smell, etc. The spaces that are not yet reconstructed are pretty old. The Air conditioning is either cooling or switched off, but it doesn't stop reaching a particular temperature. The first night, I didn't switch it off, and in the morning, it was 17 Celsius.

Verified reviewGym and pool are top notch. The new textile (towels, bed sheets) is of premium quality. Bar side pool is fun! Great live music and staff is cordial.
Construction work is still going on and sometimes results in brief power outages. They need to also upgrade their spa rooms. Doesn’t feel like you are in a top hotel’s spa.

everything was terrible.. starting from the outlook of the room environment like university hostels, the rooms inside like refurbished local apartments, the terrible doors that you will almost pull off your hands to open or close, the THE INTERNET in-room was super terrible... it was just tripping off every second and clearly frustrated my stay. the television was unclear as if it was those old antennas used for watching NTA, even the channels.... the floor was tiled with no single rugged area, the bathroom shower made bathing annoying, the toilet was definitely unplanned structurally (else what in Hospitality Name is that thing they put as toilet? even the electric kettle positioning was right in front of the wall mirror and the steam isnt good for the mirror...infact almost everything about my stay was horrible. Or is it the noise from footsteps and heavy machine sounds that kept disturbing tranquility that was assumed? At the end, i regretted that stay. In my opinion, that hotel should be called 1.5 star. The worst part is the price of over 300k plus for a night. I actually expect a refund of atleast 250k plus because that stay isnt worth even 50k.

Verified reviewGenerally, the staffs were friendly and helpful. E.g., the initial room I was booked into was not prepared and the staff (Chimuanya Mberekpe) was apologetic and prompt in relocating me. The breakfast buffet was excellent.
Unlike the customer service received on ground, the customer service when calling from abroad is poor. The phone numbers provided on hotel website and booking.com are almost unreachable. When finally reached, the attitude is quite laxed. More improvement is required here. The hotel is quite big and it would be handy to have a map of the grounds available in each room. This way individuals do not need to rely on asking questions. Although the staffs were helpful with directions. I did not appreciate the smell coming from the drain in the steam room and as a result did not entirely enjoy the experience.

Verified reviewThis hotel management are fraudulent for lack of a better word to use. I got to the reception with my husband, they collected payment and did not tell us that their air conditioner was not working. I had to ask why the reception was so hot before I was told. The manager on duty Joseph pleaded that by 5:30pm maximum the air conditioning would be restored. We waited till 10pm and still no air conditioner working. I couldn’t get a refund at that time and absolutely nothing was done. Imagine paying £168 for one night and we slept in heat! The room was stuffy and boiling hot. The level of deception is insane and to think this hotel management feels comfortable not refunding me my money after we checked in at 3pm and suffered overnight. Words will never explain how useless this hotel is and how pained I am about how my hard earned money was wasted all because I thought I was paying for comfort. I am bitter towards this hotel and I will never advise anyone to waste money staying here. I am simply asking for a full or partial refund.

Verified reviewThe hotel is in an excellent location, right in the middle of Abuja. We ran a conference at the hotel, and fair play, the new conference centre is superb really well done. I was also upgraded on arrival to a suite of my own which I really appreciated. The pool area, the gym and paddle/tennis courts also top rate.
The hotel is incredibly dated, back to the days of the Sheraton Abuja, which Abuja Continental took over from a couple of years ago. While the new owners have built a terrific conference centre, the quality of the rooms and restaurants is relatively poor by comparison. However, you do see transformation everywhere, and by the next time I come here, I expect big changes will have been made.
