How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewVintano is a top quality boutique-style hotel with large rooms, two small pools and a rooftop terrace with bar. There is a good gym and small spa. The breakfast selection was good with plenty of choices. Sage, the Chinese restaurant, was exceptional although beware of the chilli sauce if you can’t take hot and spicy food! All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Our 4 year old granddaughter was treated like a princess.
The brunch and buffet packages offered plenty of Nigerian food options, but might be of limited value if like some of our party you prefer European food.

Verified reviewThe staff were very professional. I booked this hotel for my aged mother and I also booked a taxi from the hotel to pick her from and to the airport. The staff Daniella went out of her way to make sure my mom's stay was worth it. Very grateful Daniella. Communication between me and the hotel was the best. They made sure everything I needed was in place before my mum arrived. Even the taxi driver, text when my mum was picked up and dropped off at the hotel. Nothing beat that. My mum is still singing about their professionalism and the hotel atmosphere. Their food was homely.

Verified reviewIn general staff are nice and do try to help you. Our room was upgraded for free although I dread to think what the £100pn / N200Kpn room we had paid for looked like. Breakfast is decent, Pool is decent. Big shower. Aesthetics are nice. Location is quite good as we felt central and walkable to logistics phone sim, bank, supermarket etc. Lots of restaurants and shops an uber ride away. Comfy bed.
Room cleaning was sub par - they only changed the bed. Did not clean any areas or the bathroom. We had to ask and emphasise for this to be cleaned - which they eventually did. Some mould in the bathroom. Not enough towels or loo roll, had to ask and follow up. Spa services fully booked during our stay so we couldn’t use it, annoying. No room service menu in room. Worst experience was my friend waiting over an hour for her food, for it to then be undercooked. I waited about 45mins to have egg shells served in my simple Yam and Egg Sauce meal. Horrible experience. After multiple complaints, the manager tried to resolve it the next day. Refund received within a few days. The Manager went above and beyond to offer to rectify the bad experience but unfortunately they could not be used as we had checked out and were busy in Lagos for the rest of the trip. Overall this hotel and experience does not give 4* at all, not worth it for the price. I won’t be staying here again. It does seem like they went to try to do better though.

At the point of checkin, it was so confusing to be charged a different amount from the amount I saw on booking.com. I was charged way more than I originally saw online as they claimed I needed to be charged the exchange rate of the exact day I checked in, regardless of how far ahead I booked. I recommend everyone notes this before booking this hotel. It will also be worth it having this on the description of the hotel. At check out, the system was down and I couldn’t even get a receipt. The WiFi was fluctuating on my last two nights and the hotel gets noisy late at night

Verified reviewIt was a really good experience, we got there and the room we booked was already taken so they upgraded us to their highest suite which was nice. This one came with a room, a living room, a kitchen, However, we weren't informed that the room door locked one way so, when we were heading out, we closed the door and couldn't access the room again, we called the facility but they weren't able to fix it and we had to sleep in the living room for the night until they fixed it the next morning. So sad. Because it didn't take them 10mins to get it open again and it could have been avoided if we were told. But oh well.

Now the kitchen in this hotel is useless. The meals I had were over priced and of very small quantity with low quality and they take ages to deliver your food. They need to sack all their kitchen staff as the food was not quality at all for the price charged.
