How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe location on the water was pretty. The AC was nice.
When we checked in there was construction going on, drilling directly outside our window that was very loud. A heads of a discount up would have been nice. The walls are very thin and you could hear everything outside the building and inside the lobby. There was rodent poop in the shower, which had an open drain, no drain guard. The lights did not work in the room which we thought might just be a daytime thing but when we got back at night they were still not working. We alerted the front desk, the manager said that they must have busted the electrical when they were doing construction. Other outlets and the AC worked in the room, just not the lights. He promptly moved us to another room, nicer but smaller and there was a plastic wrapped mattress leaned up against the wall. The manager asked us if we needed him to move the mattress and then was snippy when we said yes. He then asked if we needed keys to this new room or if we would just be in for the night. We definitely wanted keys. The mattress was hard and not very comfortable. Overall the place is fools gold. It looks nice but is not. The name Emerald Luxe implies that it is luxurious but it is just a crappy overpriced place that is a piece of shit

Yes, we are in the middle of an expansion, which can create some construction noise at times. When the lights in your first room were affected, our manager moved you promptly to another room to ensure your comfort. He also offered to help with the extra mattress in the room and provided keys right away when you requested them. Our team did everything possible to be accommodating, despite your dismissive attitude during the process. We take cleanliness and maintenance very seriously, and any concerns are addressed immediately. While our property is growing and improving, we pride ourselves on working hard to give guests a positive experience — as reflected in the many reviews from travelers who enjoyed their stay. We wish your experience had been more positive, but we stand by the effort and service our team provided.

Kassy needed to have another cook in place.his wife is cook and their baby got sick and was hospitilized until today.he did all he could however another cook for the few days his wife was gone wouldve been much better.

Verified reviewA wonderful relaxing place. We stayed in basic room which was good but they very plush rooms also. Enjoyed stay. Great WiFi, and A/C. Incredible view with the sound of crashing waves on the shore while relaxing in the hammock..The family incredibly nice and helpful great breakfast. Could of stayed there a few days. Afew Resturants near by. We nearly never booked because of one the poor reviews. I asked and it was explained. - clearly a weird guest who got wrong end of stick.
It's new so they still have a few minor things to sort eg lamp in room so not just main bright light. They gave portable garden light we used for soft lighting.

They rent rooms "by the hour" and at 8pm someone entered one of our rooms with a group of men and women looking to party...they used keys to access the room, so having a locked door meant nothing. No apologies, nothing. Then, at 130 am my room was attempted to be accessed by a man. Luckily I had used the security latch(was not available in the other room) and the person could not get in through the door. He then went over on the balcony and came in to my room through the balcony door. WHICH CANNOT BE LOCKED. again, we have no idea who this man was or why he felt like he could come into our rooms holding female guests in the night. When mentioned to the front desk in the morning they gave us some bogus story about this man being a property manager whom did not realize the room was booked...but if he was a manager, why would he not check the reservations and why would he enter the balcony door when he couldn't get in through the front door. I think these people were setting us to get robbed and or raped by these men. Do not stay there if you value your bodies and belongings.

We strive to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all guests and regret that this was not your experience as we have many families with small children staying with us. Regarding the front and balcony door locks; all doors are equipped with locks, and we will ensure at check in that all guests know how to use them. Your room was next to the bar entrance so if someone opened it they would have only been capable of doing so if the door was not locked from the inside. We deeply regret the inconvenience you faced, especially the mistaken room access by our property manager. He was unaware the room had been booked after he left his belongings there.
