THE HOTEL NO LONGER EXISTS. Horrible customer service, they never gave us a heads up to tell us they had stopped operating. We had to look for something last minute, which was inconvenient with a big group

I love that the location was so close to the cathedral and park! Perfect centralized location and the staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel felt very secure

If driving, there is only street parking around the corner

The staff were really sweet and hardworking people. The location is amazing!

Despite the friendly staff and the location of the hotel, it was not a comfortable stay. May I preface this by saying that this is a family-owned business and they were impacted by COVID-19 so grace was given. I would love to see this hotel improve its cleanliness ( dusting, lot of cobwebs, bathroom was not cleaned, etc) and update its guest bathroom. I would love to come back when they have improved these things I discussed before.

    The location is perfect

When we parked in the designated hotel parking spot, a man tried to extort money from us, when I offered him 50cordobas he told me I had to pay 200cordobas. When I talked with the receptionist of the hotel he said that the best thing to do is for us to give the guy the money or else there might be some damages to our car. Little did he know that my girlfriend is a local and she said that the 50$ is more than enough and more than that is a clear attempt at extortion. Makes us think that the staff is in on this scheme.

    Property response:

Hi Miguel, I’m so sorry to hear that you had this experience. We do not participate in any type of extortion. We are family owned businesses and have no need to steal from anybody. The people that are in the streets helping park cars in all downtown of Leon are disabled people that are impaired. They help you and only if you want you can tip them. It is not extortion and all tourists that have visited Leon will know that they are about 20 hearing impaired people that park cars. And it’s absurd to think that you will tip them $50 dollars, almost the amount that you payed for the room.

The property is very centrally located and within walking distance of everything. The staff were great, I think it’s a family run place. The rooms all have aircon which is a blessing in Leon!

The bathrooms could be updated and the showers are cold but you’re in Nicaragua - this is common, get over it!

    Property response:

Thank you so much for the time you took to share with us your experience. It means a lot to us, specially being a family owned business that have struggled to invest in it since Covid. We are willing to better our small hotel everyday and your input helps us to do that. Thank you for your stay. We have hot showers, you just have to make sure you turn on the electric heater. 😅 I will point out to the receptionist to mention this at check in. Thank you!

Honestly, the place is in a fantastic location, great accommodations overall, super friendly staff. AC was excellent.

The bathrooms need a complete overhaul. Gross. And no hot water. Parking wasn't what I expected.

only good thing is the location and the staff

Okay, where to start? At first, I don’t understand all those 10s review. Why? This hotel is disgusting. Even after complaining, the room felt dirty and especially the bathroom. The first impression was quite good and it looks very cozy. But is definitely not. The lights have those ugly white bulbs. There is no light from outside and no windows so the air was really unhealthy, it smells like mold all the time. Also VERY annoying is that there are construction workers starting at 4am(!!!) which are very loud. The rooms are so noisy that you can hear every step in the hallway so you can imagine how terrible that is.. I’m typing this now at 4,30am when in my room of the hotel because I woke up due to workers in the hotel. SO BRING EARPLUGS! definitely not price worthy, please book a private room in a hostel nearby for more value

    Property response:

Hello, I’m sorry to hear your experience with us was not what you expected. We certainly, as a small owned family business, hope that our costumers feel at home. This is how things played out and I think there has been a misunderstanding in how it all happened. I received a call from front desk saying that there were bottles left at the room and that the room wasn’t cleaned properly, I spoke to you personally over the phone, apologized and offered to change your room, you said that it was okay, that you didn’t want to change rooms. When a room is dirty, filthy I don’t wait till 8 hours have passed, sleep in it and then complain about it and when I am offered a solution, not take it. I asked one of my cleaning ladies to check the room and take out any bottle and just make sure it was cleaned; she came in, and this was not our new worker, it’s someone that we trust and have worked with for a while, and she said that there were no bottles to be found. After that we made sure that we asked you often if everything was fine, we truly worry for our costumers satisfaction. We are not close to being perfect, but we certainly wish the warmth of our family is felt. You said every time we asked that everything was okay. We do not have construction workers at 4:30 am. You told me you had to catch a bus to go to San Carlos, and that’s the reason you got up that early. The reason I am taking the time to clarify this, is because I do care for my costumers, I don’t think it’s fair to us, you or them to intentionally hurt what we have worked for, by saying that people that have written positive reviews on their stay with us are all lies. I apologize if what we did to help you wasn’t good enough. I think the pandemic thought us all, that we are far for having control over everything, that being kind and open to one another is important and mostly that communication is key and if something THAT BAD was wrong with your stay, it would have been more productive to let me know in that moment, rather than just writing a hateful comment when things like that, do have a solution. Thank you and we are sorry.

okee I really want to give a honest review as these people are just doing their job as everybody else but we had a horrible experience here. The other reviews sounded promising so we booked for one night. When we checked in the lady from the reception was really nice and her English was perfect. We went into the hotel, really dark and ugly light and no daylight, same for the room. We dropped our bags and already did not really like it but we thought it is just for one night and went into the city, the location is great! Later when we came back and wanted to go to bed we started to realize how disgusting the room is, mold, spiderdust, and a weird blanked which really smelled as it was not linnen. We went to the reception and they showed us a different room, here the mold was even worse and the room smelled unhealthy. I want you to know that we went to a hostel somewhere nearby which was much more clean. maybe people want rooms like this but it they charge way to much for what you get.
