The host is a smoker and allows to smoke on the first floor but the whole house smells of cigarette smoke.

The host was polite and very welcoming. The location is absolutely great, with a stunning garden on site. The bus stop is just a few minutes away, making it easy to reach the city center. The city itself is very nice and clean.

The owner smokes a lot, so take in consideration that the whole house smells like smoke. As a person with asthma it was hard to breathe.

Our room is located in the 2nd floor , toilet is in the first floor and kitchen is on ground floor . The stair case is very narrow and very difficult to take the luggage to the upstairs , Mainly the stairs from 1st floor to second floor is slippery and not carpeted . Cigarette smell is all across the floor and very suffocating (mainly in the ground floor where the kitchen is attached to the living room

Even tho there is a designated smoking area, you could have smelled the cigarette smoke in the whole house. Someone was smoking in the garden, but the smoke entered the room through the opened window which was quite unpleasant. The wifi there is for free, but didn't work that well, most of the time I used my own internet.

Jan is a great host, he explained everything and communicated effectively and promptly. The first day I got something small to eat as well. The room has everything what you need - towels, slippers, bathrobe, TV, women's hygiene supplies, tea, coffee, ...

Again this is not first hand experience, but apparently the owner allows smoking inside downstairs, which did leave a bit of a musty smell in the rooms, although the bedrooms are all upstairs and were otherwise very clean and comfortable. I gather that this was the only 'questionable' aspect, and not one that caused any major problems at all, and my colleagues all stressed how welcoming their host was, extremely friendly and amenable, and giving detailed information at their arrival.

I booked this for my colleagues so this is not a first hand review, but my colleagues told me that they all had a very comfortable two nights sleep, and the property was clean and inviting. It served our needs very well in this particular circumstance. There is a kitchen available for use I gather, which is an excellent plus although it was not used by my colleagues on this occasion.

I liked the location. It was really close to a whole lot of supermarkets, easy to acces with car and always free parking.

The room was a bit musty. The location is connected by bus but a bit peripheral. I'd like to have felt more comfortable using the kitchen.

Jan is a nice guy and there is enough privacy and close to the local bus stop. Supermarkets are quite close too. Very reasonably priced.

I just wish my room door could be locked from the outside during my stay. This is not too much of a problem. It was a safe environment.

The towels and bedding were worn, some of the mugs provided in the room were sticky, and behind the bed needed vacuuming. I didn't really understand the sheet of optional extra charges the host provided; I was concerned that there was no clear way of locking the room from the outside; and (and this is my own fault) I had entirely missed the warning about the fact that there was smoking in the building.

This place felt like staying in the spare room of a friend of my parents. It was small, but met all of my needs - there was a desk, a very well stocked closet of amenities; and it was very close to a bus stop. Also, the price was absolutely unbeatable and I was traveling on a tight budget.

Jan is a geart host. The place is nice and very clean. The room was very good equipped - coffee machine, dental kit, bathrobe, plates etc. A big supermarket is in 10 min walk, there is a very nice forest nearby. A good value of quality and price.

If you don't smoke be aware that the ground livingroom floor is a smoking zone. Keep in mind that the rooms are on the 1st floor and there is no smoking allowed, so you can skip the smoking zone and not be affected by it.

Jan is superfriendly and helpful. There is everything one can need for a stay, with all details well thought through. Including shoepolish and an alarm clock in the room, plus basic cosmetics and hairdryer in the bathroom. That was a very comfortable stay with great value for money!

Smoking. It is allowed on the first floor; that is okay. However, I am very sensitive to smoking and feel how it spreads everywhere, even to the third floor. This was one of the reasons why I left this place one day earlier. All other aspects were good, but smoking made my stay uncomfortable. Maybe for most people, it is OK, but, as I said, I am very sensitive to smoking.

If you are a non smoker, this may not be the place for you. Smoking is allowed in the common areas, and there is a strong smell of smoke throughout the house (even on the third floor). Unfortunately, we didn’t realize this although we later found some reviews mentioning it. For us (non smokers) it was borderline unbearable. We closed our doors as much as possible to keep the smoke out. I do think it should be mentioned in the listing itself, because someone with asthma could have a big issue. We chose not to use the living room, kitchen and back patio because of the smoke smell. The rooms cannot be locked from the outside, only from the inside. While the listing mentions hotel, it is actually a single home and I think the host also lives there.

Jan was a great host and provided thorough check-in process. The property is located in a quiet neighborhood and the rooms were clean. The WiFi was good and the rooms had everything needed.
