Spacious rooms. Welcoming staff. Great continental breakfast. A well stocked honesty bar. We have stayed here on multiple occasions and this hotel in the centre of Bolsward never fails to impress.

Breakfast - The table was set up for us every morning with a variety of local bread, pastry, cheese/meat, yogurt/fruit/granola and juice. The staff was very attentive serving tea/coffee made to order. Room - spacious, airy with large windows, sitting area and the most comfortable bed I have ever enjoyed in a hotel. The common areas in the gardens are wonderful places to enjoy a glass of wine and relax.

Breakfast was excellent, thank you! But the main draw for me was the rich history of the property.

I had a little bit of trouble finding a comfortable place to work on my computer — the easy chairs slumped, but the table was too small and those seats were too hard. It’s a minor complaint, anyway.

The property itself is beautiful + breakfast room was gorgeous. Staff was very friendly. The bed was comfortable. The bath is spacious and a very luxurious addition to the room. A gluten-free breakfast was possible!

We stayed in the wing they were renovating. Our hotelroom felt as though it wasn’t finished yet (lacking final touches to enhance the atmosphere). Especially the bathroom felt empty. The floor in the bathroom was also very cold. Also, I found a bottle of vodka in my bedside table.

Beautiful setting, relaxed, nice to have the donkeys there, picnic outside in garden, nice breakfast, parking, comfortable bed. Although didn’t need it this time, the honesty bar was great to have.

Sink in living room rather than bathroom, could do with another towel for hair.

Air conditioning would be added value. We were upstairs & it was quite hot.

We were quoted a total of £419 by Booking.com for 4 rooms for our stay on 19/20 June. Our party paid individually, three of us the same amount but the fourth member of the group significantly more(€50+ difference). In a subsequent telephone discussion with the owner on the morning we departed he agreed with me that a mistake had been made and that the fourth member should have been charged the same amount as the others. My understanding was that the difference would be repaid on to my card. As yet nothing has appeared on my card to this effect. I would be grateful for any intervention on my behalf that you are able to make. I also will be following this up with the hotel myself. Many thanks. Happily after contacting the manager, the overpayment was refunded. Excellent customer relations. 18/07/24

The accommodation was spacious, warm and light. The separate lounge area was ideal and large. Hosts were friendly and accommodating. We really appreciate the stocked fridge and honesty bar. It is a lovely historic building in a really great town. We walked and enjoyed the town and restaurants.

Breakfast was a bit more expensive than we anticipated.
