Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBeds could have been more comfortable and had to walk to find restaurant and bar as hotel one was closed when we were there. Decor a strange mix, some nice original features but then suspended office style ceilings and a bit dated in bathroom
Some parking at the rear which was good for motorbikes, out of sight from road. Friendly host, breakfast they cooked us fresh eggs which was nice. Perfectly fine for an overnight stay.

TaiwanNo elevator and you need to carry luggage to the 3rd floor. Water temperature was varying when I was showering, which could be troublesome. White towels were not white; they look not clean, although smell good. The room was a penthouse, and I can hear traffic noise from the road in the day. The walls may be not thick, since you can hear people walking in the hallway.
Bed is clean and good. Breakfast is okay, but the host was very friendly and happy to cook fresh eggs for customers. Coffee is free for you to drink at the 1st floor. Wi-Fi speed is quick. It is quite at night. The hosts are very nice and welcoming my visit.

Netherlands-
Nice and cozy hotel. Amazing to have the hosts walk up to you in the morning to ask if you like to have an egg for breakfast and then they make it themselves. It's so much different (and in my opinion better) than the factory-treatment a big hotel brand will give you. It's not a five star hotel with a private whirlpool and stuff like that, but it's clean, it has everything you need, it's in a really nice village and it's owned by real people, who will help you with everything you need.

NetherlandsMaybe how warm it was on the top floor, but this is to be expected in summertime.
The hospitality was amazing! The host is very kind and easygoing, as well as considerate. I was there for work and had to leave early and would therefore miss breakfast, however, the host made sure I had breakfast anyway by allowing me into the breakfast hall early :) Much appreciated! Oh and -> smart tv :))

NetherlandsThe hotel is old which means you can hear all sorts of noises from the other rooms and hallway. It was a really warm weekend and the rooms had no airco or fan.
It is an old hotel with loads of character. Breakfast had everything I needed, bed was comfortable and the room had a nice size flatscreen tv

GermanyI will have to think hard to find something negative to write. :)
I liked the neighbourhood (quiet, cosy, clean) and the hosts (helpful, discreet and endearing). The fact that we could spend our weekend there with our pet and the flexibility of payment methods/marketing policies was quite stress relief. Le Bonheur is the perfect location for a getaway, either alone or in small groups. The touristic attractions are a transportation away. You can have all the info and documentation about them from the hosts as well. I highly recommend this cosy hotel. I will surely comeback, since it has now become my favorite location for my first trip in Holland. Again, thank you for having us.

TurkeyThe only downside was that there was no elevator but as the hotel is only two floors, not a big deal at all.
It was a very lovely hotel in a fantastic location. I stayed for Andre Rieu concert. Going to MEEC was incredibly convenient since it is less than two minutes to walk to the train station. The hotel was very comfortable. The breakfast was satisfying and it was open-buffet. The owner couple was really kind and helpful. The hotel also has a cosy café-bar inside if you wanna enjoy a drink.

BelgiumCozy private hotel. Clean rooms with breakfast. Friendly owner. At our request, we had breakfast early, at 7.00 am. Possibility to drink coffee freely at any time in the dining room. Or take drinks from the refrigerator for a fee. There is private parking and if you're lucky there will be a space. On the first day we parked in the hotel parking lot, on the second day the spaces were full, so we had to park in a public space along the street.
