A Superb Stay at Man Met Bril Koffie Hotel Our stay at Man Met Bril Koffie Hotel was an exceptional experience from check-in to the following morning. The coffee was simply superb — clearly crafted by true experts who are passionate about their craft. We especially enjoyed relaxing on the terrace by the waterfront. This area of Rotterdam is undergoing an exciting transformation, emerging as a true architectural and urban gem. The hotel itself is a delightful destination — a design experience in its own right. The attention to detail is remarkable, especially the graphic design, packaging, and signage — all beautifully executed. The integration of Thomas Trum’s wall art adds a bold and unique character that ties the space together brilliantly. This is exactly how a design hotel should operate. The breakfast offering was fantastic — freshly baked croissants and delicious avocado toast made for a perfect start to the day. We’ll definitely be back. We’re getting a little addicted! Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable. — Arnold & Wim

The beds were very good, the room was clean. Housekeeping personnel very friendly. Decoration of room nice. The breakfast is different and nice, but probably not to everyone's liking.

I think it is ridiculous that when I am in my own country that I have adapt to another language because the staff does speak any languages but English. We are Dutch, the hotel is in the Netherlands and so the staff should speak Dutch, or at least try to speak that language. They should not be arrogant telling me that I am rude (clearly they confuse that with Dutch directness) and that they do not plan the learn the language of the country that is hosting them. The information on Booking is misleading in many ways. You indicate that there is a coffee/tea maker in the room - there is NOT. All there is, is 2 cups and a tea bag - no coffee, no sugar, no milk, no spoons. You indicate that the room has garden view. Well, a garden you cannot call it, unless you grow pavement tiles, weeds and rubbish bags being there for the entire stay (2 days). The decoration in the room is nice, but not really functional when you have to do some work. It is undoable to having to bend over for over een hour sitting on a wooden chair. A higher table where you can put your computer and work from, might be more practical. Please make sure that when the fire alarm goes off, staff follows the protocol. Instead, them leaving the guests in the blind, causing confusion. It is bad enough when it is a false alarm once, but 2 days in a row....? The stairs leading to the rooms are lacking a handrail, which is a health hazard, particularly for people with mobility problems or when carrying heavy luggage. In the coffeeshop: Is there a policy that no sugar is provided? If this happens once, then that I can understand, but if it happens all the time I order coffee? That is totally incorrect. It should be the customer who decides whether to have sugar/milk or not. Having said this all, I hope you will do something with the criticism as the hotel has major potential.

    Property response:

Dear Karen, it was such a pleasure having you.

Room was very nice, comfortable, there is no kettle in the room, but there is a really nice cafe on the first floor - coffee and teas and breakfast/lunch (from 7:00-16:00) - everything fresh and very tasty. Aroma of coffee and freshly baked croissants every morning! Staff friendly and welcoming. The location was great for our needs, but a tram stop is 5min walking distance - easy to get to the city center. Parking easy to find everywhere around on the street. For sure will stay there again!

On arrival which was a very hot day we found our room to be very hot and when we tried to cool it down we found that the A/C was not working. We reported this to Andrea who was then amazing in trying to solve the issue and involving others who could help. We were compensated with a couple of cool drinks while the problem was sorted out and eventually the room was at a great temperature. All the staff were very friendly and helpful but especially Andrea. Although our breakfast choice was not to our taste the coffee was excellent. We also loved the location with the outside overlooking the canal and with the bar next door there was a great friendly vibe at all times there.

The short staircase taking us up to our room was a little difficult for me as I was wearing a medical boot and so a short grab rail would have helped me and possibly others in the future.

Comfortable and relaxing room, room service if food and coffee was good, staff members were always friendly and ready to support guests.

The bed was a bit too high for me (160cm) but still OK!

Very Nice location with Terrace along the Rotte. Excellent coffee. Near Centre of Rotterdam.

Pillows are too big and hard, not comfortable. Given the name of the hotel I expected to be able to make coffee in my room, alas…

We were very impressed with the hotel. The staff, Sam and the South African girl, were exceptional.

Check-in should stay open until 8.00pm. The garden rooms need to have gardens, not concrete.

    Property response:

Thanks for the feedback! We’re so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay, and we can’t wait to welcome you again soon.

    nice trendy place

pity that the staff were so glum. the garden is a joke. Cant see why one has to pay a deposit - this is not done in other hotels.
