Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

NetherlandsThe room looked "stern" or "spartan". Closing windows is not easy (you need to lift them to be able to do so and they are a little heavy). Also my TV was out of order, which had apparently been the case for a while because the staff said so when I told them. I also feel that the desk is in the wrong place in the room (much to close to the door to the room). That may also be due to the absence of power outlets in other parts of the room where the desk would fit a lot better. There is really no lobby to speak of and they don't serve breakfast. So you are not expected to spend much time in the hotel.
The room is spacious as well as the bathroom. My room had a view of the park on the opposite side of the street, which I liked. There is an Asian food market in the same "building" as well as a Chinese restaurant, but both are separate enterprises. There are several places in the park where one can go for food and drinks (not cheap and they tend to close early compared to Southern European standards). The location very near to the park, to the Maastunnel. the watertaxi and public transport makes it a good "home base" for getting around the wider Rotterdam area.

NorwayI had booked and paid for a room with sea view but got one facing the car park. Beds are hard but I solved it by putting the two over mattresses on top of each other. No room service in 5 days was unexpected but they replaced towels and emptied the bin…
I attended a conference and the other hotels were very expensive or very far from Rotterdam. So I felt the deal was good in the circumstances and was positively surprised after reading many bad comments. The room was spacious and the location is good. It’s also an interesting concept staying on a Chinese boat in Rotterdam. The park nearby is very nice.

ItalyThe room, even though was clean, had a permanent smell of cigarettes, probably because of the carpet. We didn't realize it was a smoker room when we booked, and that is on us, but the fact the windows couldn't be opened at all made the smell very pungent, made a bit worst by the fact it was somewhat hot when we were there. I would suggest the hotel to make a bit clearer they have both smoker and non smoker rooms so people can chose. Also, the lack of outlets was a bit of a problem, since we had a few things to charge and only 2 outlests in the whole room where available (the others where taken by the A.C. unit and the tv.)
The hotel is quite nice, the location was good for a leisure trip, with a bus stop (both normal and hop on hop off) right in front of the hotel and one of the touristic atractions of the city pretty close. They also have a park right in front, making it a quite nice place to relax as well. The hotel was clean, and the room was spacious, specially considering we were in the water. The bed was quite comfortable.
