Reviews of Nova Hotel 3 stars

The hotel is in a quiet location, the room was large and although they did not have air conditioning fans were provided. Having a fridge was very handy. In the reception area, you can refill your water bottle and make hot drinks. The hotel is very close to Dam Square, shops and cabals. The tramline is across the road, making it quick and easy to visit museums, and other areas of the city.

On arrival, I found the receptionist was very rude and abrupt, and they struggled to find the booking. I was then asked to pay, and when I questioned this, as I was under the impression the hotel would take the money directly, again she was rude and abrupt. This really spoiled our visit. The hotel is not good for those with mobility issues, as there are steps down to the hotel entrance and steps to and from the breakfast area and refreshments area. I found the bed uncomfortable.

Great location and close to shops and restaurants and canal. The room was spacious. TV had netflix so we could watch english speaking shows

No AC but did have 2 fans which we pointed at the bed when we slept.

Staff is very friendly. Clean hotel. Great breakfast.

I didn’t realize there is no air conditioning. I am very sensitive to heat. It was really hot weather for a few days. They were amazing and changed my room for the first floor that was cooler. They do have fans in every room

The hotel is centrally located, which is very convenient.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the overall experience. The facilities felt outdated, the staff was not very welcoming, and our room was not cleaned in the morning.

The location was good

A fire door outside our room was propped open and restricted access to the room. There were no tea and cofffee making facilities in the room.

The hotel was perfectly located for all attractions, tram links and Amsterdam Centraal Station. Plenty of shops, supermarket, restaurants, cafes and bars all with a few minutes walk. The room (triple) was very spacious, clean and comfortable. En-suite bathroom was lovely and modern. Breakfast was great, lots to choose from...something for everyone. Staff were all super friendly and very helpful. We really enjoyed our break and would definitely go back again.

Only three things I didn't like about our room. 1. Located at the front of the building and we had trouble sleeping due to noisy revellers late into the night, not ideal. 2. No air-conditioning and it would get rather hot in the room by end of the day. Couldn't open windows due to noise and people smoking in front! There were however three fans which did help. 3. Soap and Shower dispensers were fixed so high that me and my daughter could not use them! Note to hotel - not everyone is 6ft 3 high, some of us are smaller. Luckily I packed a small bar of soap which was handy.

The location only

I arrived at night and the guy who was at the reception hardly can answer any question! The room they assigned to me has very difficult access with a very narrow and high staircase which you have to carry all your luggage by yourself and no help could be available. Even they promised to help at the time of check out but also no one was available. One day they did not clean the room at all as they said they don’t have towels?????? At the check out time they refuse to give me any late check out even one hour. The staff is not friendly at all and they are ready to fight with you anytime . Especially one lady was at the check out Azra.

The location was fabulous, very central. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Rooms were functional but a bit dated. Had to carry heavy baggage to the 2nd floor as there was no lift available. There was a power failure soon after we checked in, had to run after staff to have it rectified.

Friendly staff, convenient location.

Bed and pillows weren’t that comfortable and it was very hot in the room but opening the window meant mosquitos would fly in from the standing water on the roof outside the window. No AC, but fans are provided. Shower water pressure was also very low.
