A lot of fuss about bringing our dog in the specific hotel room. We have asked Booking to change the description of their adds. Luckily we got offered alternative rooms by the hotel however that alternative room(-s) had a bathroom of the sixties including bathcurtain...... :-). We don't think this is the standard of the hotel but this need to be renovated.

Location and the view of the hotel was very beautiful. Also the other guests were pleasant.

Early in the morning it was very noisy under our window, I think, truck was delivering food to the restaurant for breakfast (it was parking view room)

The hotel is excellent in the most beautiful place of the district. But you must stay in a lake view room !Very important!

Our room was very old. The cleaning was average, bathroom with mildew. We were just next to the elevator with heavy traffic, and Not soundproof, I had to take a melatonin pill to fall asleep due to noise. I am sure another room further from elevator would be more quiet. Overall style is nice but some basic renovations could be done.

We loved the location of this beautiful old charming hotel, facing the fjord, the view from the restaurant and the balcony ( if you’re lucky to get one). The sauna right on the water was a plus! The breakfast was excellent.

The room was clean but very basic and cold - everything felt a little dated.

The breakfast was a basic, typical Norwegian breakfast. You could make your own waffles, which was nice. There were scrambled and sunny side up eggs. They had a meat ball which was rather plain.

The dinner menu is limited and not the fine dining you might expect for the price. Unfortunately, there is almost nowhere else to eat. The curtains in the bedroom are next to useless, allowing daylight through. In the summer, this means from 4am to 11pm. Bring an eye mask!

Reasonably grand feel to the hotel with lovely staff. Panoramic views from the grounds and dining areas over the fjord are breathtaking. Rooms are spacious. Wide choice with buffet breakfast.

Signs of old age of the building are visible inside rooms. Breakfast options are limited. No water kettle, water bottle, refrigerator, and telephone in the room.

There are few options to eat in the town. The hotel dinner was too pricey for us. Would be great to have some cheaper options.

The position of the hotel meant that the view was gorgeous. It was very chilled there and we met lots of very happy guests. You can hire a sauna spot on the fjordside and jump in after! Very cheery, friendly and helpful staff and they gave us linked rooms so we could all be together which was great. Breakfast was very good and looking out over the fjord a wonderful experience... !!

The hottub was out of order, the sauna and steam bath downstairs was also out of order. That was a pity.

The surrounding is beautiful and the staff is very friendly.

The bathrooms in the rooms are very basic and dated. A bath mat would have been good, and toiletries provided instead of a simple dispenser on the wall. Overall, think the building is tired and dated and requires being updated and brought into the modern era. The view is exceptional, as is access to the fjord, and the gardens, however we feel that this hotel rides the coattails of the view too much. If the fjord wasn’t there, it would be a below average hotel.
