Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe hotel only opened for check-in at 3pm. This wasn't fully clear to us; if we had know this we would have taken more time for our walk. The weater was fine but I can imagine it's less nice to have to wait outside when it rains.
Great, classic hotel on a stunning location. The hotel comprises a group of small woorden buildings with rooms spread across those buildings. The communal spaces are very tastefully decorated, especially the lounges and sitting rooms. The hotel room was small but very comfortable.

Hong KongA bit crowded during breakfast time. Food was out when we arrive at seven the first night.
The best location you can get for walking the musk ox trail. The houses are beautiful with over 100 years history. The dinner is also fantastic. The three salon rooms are stunning!!!!

NorwayWhile the staff is very polite and their command of English is certainly helpful for international guests, I was surprised to find that some of them did not speak Norwegian. As a sign of respect for the country and its local visitors, especially considering I personally witnessed three Norwegian-speaking guests leave due to communication issues, I believe it is important that staff are also able to communicate in Norwegian. I hope they are studying and will soon be able to offer service in Norwegian as well.
This historic landmark in Kongsvoll is the perfect starting or finishing point for a visit to the majestic Dovrefjell–Sunndalsfjella National Park. Steeped in tradition, it offers a cozy, rustic atmosphere that reflects its rich heritage. The main restaurant is well worth a visit, especially for traditional dishes like reindeer. For more budget-friendly options, the Kro serves up a pleasant selection. Don't miss the Kongsvoll Botanical Alpine Garden (Kongsvoll Botaniske Fjellhage), located just next door, it's a hidden gem well worth exploring.

Nice place in the nature, more meant for pilgrims but anyone is welcome.

United Kingdom-There’s a few things to be aware of - there’s no path from the train station so you have to walk on the actual main road for a short time which is a bit frightening. -rather than serving pilgrimage style hearty filling food at a reasonable price, the restaurant has been taken over by a chain called Fritz who serve very expensive gourmet food that doesn’t fill your stomach at all after a day walking. There is no alternative food to buy so it’s really not fair or suitable for walkers, especially young ones and those on a tight budget and doesn’t seem to fit the ethos of the place as a pilgrims stop!
It’s a beautiful place along the pilgrimage trail with fantastic views all around.

NetherlandsThe room had cozy mountain cottage vibes. Location was a very good base for hikes into the Dovrefjell area (such as musk ox trail). We experienced an issue in our room, but this was swiftly fixed by the staff by giving us a new room. Staff was helpful in meeting our wishes.

United KingdomVery good breakfast and evening meal - food in general of a high standard. This hotel is in a fairly remote location though easily accessible via a good road it stands alone in glorious countryside. 10 minutes walk from the railway station, an excellent location for walkers and obviously heated up for this activity. We went for the walking and loved it!

AustraliaThe hotel restaurant only served a very expensive 3 course meal with no cheaper options available and it was a 20-30 min drive to the nearest restaurant
The staff were wonderful and extremely helpful. They were always so lovely and helpful and the staff on duty helped us contact our bank when are phones were not working which would have caused us a lot of trouble if we had not been able to do that. We were extremely grateful for the assistance of the manager on duty that day.

SwitzerlandAbsolutely nothing we did not like here, maybe except the weather...
Everything was just perfect, we did not expect this very high level and were very positively surprised. A strong recommendation from us to stay overnight and enjoy this hotel with its nice wooden rooms and the superb dinner and breakfast!
