The room was quite small and cramped compared to anywhere else we stayed in Scandinavia.

The main building itself was beautiful, but our room was in an annex and was quite small. As it was not in the main building, we had to walk to the rain to get our meals in the hotel. The hotel bistro was wonderful and the breakfast was very good. The location very close to the train station was perfect for us.

Great location as the train station was directly across the street and it was a short walk to the Bryggen historical area. Great breakfast. Wonderful.

The main light went out and the cleaning staff didn't notice it. The same with the body wash in the shower.

Dirty carpet and smelly room. The hotel is almost 100 years old.

Location is good, just cross the road to train station. Nice and more varieties breakfast. Big bath room.

When arriving by car, you had to park the car at the train station car park which was not very far in foot but rather complicated to get to by car. The staff at reception were not very forthcoming with information about how best to get there. This info should be mentioned on the booking.com website before having people there is an actual car park at the hotel. Also in the bar was very unfriendly… the place was empty and they were not busy at all, yet they would not bring us the menu and only reluctantly asked us what we wanted to order but immediately asked for payment. This is not what I would expect from a whisky lounge/bar type setting… it felt more like a pub setting.

We stayed in the Villa and it was just lovely. Our room was functional and had every thing we needed. It was very clean and the shower had great water pressure. The windows opened at night to let in some cool air which was great. There is even a shared laundry room where we were able to do a load of laundry for free. The breakfast buffet was delicious, we chose to eat there every morning of our stay even though we usually opt out of hotel breakfasts.

Went to get a drink at the bar on one of the evenings i was there. The sole bartender was slammed and didnt even notice me. After about 10 minutes of standing there without recognition, gave up and went back to room.

The property was really cool, historic, had a gym that wasnt huge but was good, offered free coffee 24hrs/day, centrally located, and with nice dining facilities.

room ventilation. It was warm weather and there was no air conditioning. One couldn't open the windows, but we asked for and were given a fan to use which helped a lot.

The Amundsen bar was used like a restaurant so very little space just to have a drink and no atmosphere.
