Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe only thing I didn’t like was that there was no side chair to sit in. But the lobby did have comfortable chairs.
I moved here from a five star hotel in Lazimpat and was great. The staff was so attentive and it felt like home.

Clean and comfortable with the nicest staff! Good breakfast and a delicious restaurant across the street. Located exactly where you want to be in Thamel. I've stayed here all three times I've been to Nepal, and it's a home away from home.

IndiaThe AC was too cold? Haha nothing to complain about really
The hotel was just like the photos but better, because photos doesn’t show how comfortable the bed, how hot and great the shower is, and how helpful is staff! Kevin and Samip were such great hosts, helping us with everything and making adjustments for our comfort around breakfast, and made me tea cause I felt sick ❤️ I highly recommend it and will make it my regular while in Kathmandu

United StatesThis hotel is the best I've stayed at during all my Himalayan travels. The location is in a quiet area just a minute walk to the center of Thamel. Also very close to an ATM. It's clean, the bed is comfortable, and the hot shower is excellent. The staff is kind and accommodating, Samip, Kevin, and Raj are always available and efficient. Raj also runs a tour company! I did a couple of day excursions with them and found the transportation and guides knowledgeable and their prices very good. They can take you anywhere you want to go in the Himalayas. I had food poisoning coming from India and they expressed concern, making sure I had what I needed to recover. I can't be more grateful. This is where I will stay anytime in Kathmandu!

AustraliaGood breakfast provided with the room, great location - easy to walk anywhere in Thamel (tourist area), my room was comfortable and balcony was a plus (although on the 5th floor with no stairs - but staff helped with carrying bags). Staff (Samip, Kevin and Sangam) were friendly and very helpful.

CambodiaThere were some issues at check-in. My key card didn't work. However, I was offered a replacement quickly. I couldn't find the switch for the air-conditioning. However, with the help of the front desk, we sorted that out (it's near the baseboard, and it may have been helpful to know ahead of time, given that it's not at eye level, or intuitive). Also, the tea served was a great, complementary feature. However, it could have been warmed and more spiced, especially based on how it compared to others in the city.... But, this is all minor, and would not stop me from staying here again, nor stop me from recommending this lodging to other people.
We were greeted with tea at check-in. The receptionist was kind, smiley, good-humored, patient, and helpful. He often reserved taxis for us when needed. We were in walking distance from main tourist hot spots, especially a UNESCO World Heritage site. The room was wonderful. Queit, comfy, clean.

United StatesAll the things! The room was spacious and clean and so cute. I felt immediately comfortable when I walked through the main door. The lounge area is modern and friendly and warm. The staff is wonderful. Samip and Kevin are helpful and caring. This will be my home base throughout my travels as they will hold on to my bags while I tour the Himalayas. Oh... and like others have said, the shower!!! It's hot and great water pressure. Very good!!

PolandDuring last trip to Nepal we have spent 5 nights before and 2 nights after the trekking in Bodhi Boutique Hotel. It’s very nicely located, close to Thamel and Durbar Square but a bit aside so, area next to the hotel is calm and quiet. There is also a good restaurant next to it. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Personnel is professional and speak good English. It may be not the cheapest place but definitively worth. Visiting KTM next time it will be my choice again.

Hong KongOnly the toilet flush, u may knew it is quite common in Thamel district area.
Just late to post comments here. As the previous review comment mentioned Raj runs the hotel by true heart, it is worth to get very good reputation. Our family traveled in Kathmandu end of Jan, it was our first time to Nepal, we get on wrong pickup bus by my mistake, but the hotel owner, Raj, settled down for us. Really thanks. We joined local tour which Raj help to plan hiking and view sun rise tour for us, he is very nice. Raj pick up us and treat us a lunch, it was very surprise for us, we really feel he and his staff, David and Depee are very kind and friendly, they also provide us so many travel information, super thanks. I hope one day we will visit Pokhara or BC and we can stay in the hotel to have a Masala tea for chitchat.

MexicoThere was no hot water in Room 101, and the AC had a minor leak. It also felt a bit intrusive that the staff started calling us before the official check-out time.

MacaoThere is no elevator. I thought there is a balcony in the room as it is mentioned on booking.com when I booked it but no room has balcony in this hotel.
I spent one night in this hotel only as my last night to catch the flight back home. Staff are very friendly and helpful. They offered to drive me to the airport. Shower is the best I had during my 2-week long trip in Nepal. There is hairdryer in the bathroom. Bed is comfortable. Quiet.

United KingdomDream of a hotel. Exceptional staff. Had an amazing stay at Boudi Hotel and I have to say a large part of it was because of the staff, especially Raj and David. Raj was so helpful in all things from local advice, trekking, history and local tips for food etc. He could not be more helpful and kind. David was also really helpful and all the staff working there were always smiling and were very kind. The rooms are impeccable and beautifully designed and the showers are 10/10.. Hot and powerful. The beds are also super comfortable with firm but soft mattresses. Rooms also have very nice lighting. There is no lift, so if you are on 3/4/5 floor you have a little bit of a walk but it will keep you fit for trekking EBC😂 It's down a small street, so quiet but you are at the edge of Thamel. You are about 5 mins walk from The North Face/Mountain Equipment/Colombia shops. You are also close to two Outside Compass shops. This is a local Nepali brand and I bought a few things from there (great quality, great prices) as want to support the local economy more than big brands. Great food close by too and a good choice from Chinese/Tibetan/Nepali/Indian. All your trekking needs are covered in the streets around the area. Absolutely loved this place and can't recommend it enough. David, UK
