Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI loved the heritage style apartment with cooking facilities, the great staff and that I had a separate entry. It was all hassle free and I appreciated it so much.

NetherlandsWhile most staff were friendly, respectful and helpful, the night shift staff was unfriendly to us. He was very rigid, slow in service and invaded our personal boundaries, such as trying to read our emails while we worked in the lobby. The larger double room offering "landmark view" doesn't really have any view.
It's of great value. In my opinion you get more than you pay. The hotel is centrally located and tugged away in a small alleyway, so it's not as noisy as most hotels in the old town center of Patan. Not many options for breakfast but if you are not staying for long, it's efficient and healthy. The hot water and wifi are both stable - can't say the same for most hotels in Nepal!

GeorgiaI was surprised to learn that my booking was canceled after check-out, citing an issue with my card, even though I stayed at the hotel and paid in full by card. Fortunately, I can still provide a review of my stay. Be aware that there is no elevator, and the stairs are quite steep and narrow, so keep this in mind when deciding whether to book here.
The location is convenient, being close to the famous Durbar Square, though it’s frustrating that you have to pay to walk by it, especially when you’re staying nearby (perhaps it can be improved by negotiating with the authorities). This forces you to either sneak past the guards or take a longer route. The room is clean but somewhat small for the price. However, it comes well-equipped with essentials like toiletries, a hair dryer, and towels. Breakfast is simple but ok; however, I found it misleading when they mentioned at check-out that coffee was complimentary. If I were expected to pay for it, this should have been clearly communicated beforehand rather than presenting it as a "discount" on what I thought was included with the breakfast price. On a positive note, the staff is friendly.

United KingdomAs it was top floor it was quite hot. We were given a room fan however which helped.
It was a nice apartment room. Bed was on the top floor with rooftop views typical of Patan. The staff were very helpful and the room was clean. Bed was comfortable. The location was excellent, just off the main square.

NepalJust a 1-minute walk from the sacred and timeless Patan Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the hotel provides a soulful eco retreat. Steeped in heritage and spirituality, the atmosphere here is one of peace, reflection, and warm hospitality. Thoughtfully designed with elegant interiors and touches of local Newari artistry. The rooms are, spotless and very comfortable, it’s a great deal for the offered rates. The staff welcomes you with genuine warmth, offering service that feels as heartfelt as it is attentive. It is not just a place to stay but a place to experience the spirit of Patan. Highly recommended!!!

United KingdomThe stay was generally good, but the lack of a lift made it a bit inconvenient, especially with luggage.
It was my first time staying in a hotel in Nepal and I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was clean, cozy, and extremely comfortable, making it a great place to relax. The location was also perfect, with easy access to everything I needed. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!

Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting with your family or friends. And if the weather is good, dinner and breakfast on the terrace is a definite yes.

FranceVery nice new hotel! Everything was very clean and comfortable - good bed, wifi, very hot shower. The location in a little courtyard is very nice and means no street/motorbike noise. The staff are great - very friendly and helpful. They even remembered our food preferences when we came back after a two week trek! The location is very close to the Patan Darbar Square, lots of restaurants and so on.
