How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location is perfectly surrounded by many yoga and singing bowl retreat centers. That’s the main reason we choose this stay. The room also has stunning lake view which has really good sunlight and ventilation that makes our stay so comfortable. The room and attached toilet is overall clean and interior remain very well so to speak. Owner also very responsive to our needs as for kettle and hangers whenever we request. We sleep really well during our stay and feel so blissful waking up with such scenic Mountain View just in front of our room. Also the wheat bakery which is so recommended is just located opposite down to the hotel, which I almost visit everyday for breakfast.
Thank you 🙏

Verified reviewGreat Lake view from the balcony. Quiet area. Great value. The owner, Vishnu, is super nice and helpful. They will do your laundry by hand and dry it on a rope.
It is located on a hill, with a steep climb. Cars cannot access it, only scooters

Verified reviewGreat view of the lake, close to Lakeside and the main area with restaurants. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Wifi was good (first time during our three weeks in Nepal). Hot water took a minute, but works well. Very clean.
Coffee is cheaper by the cup than purchasing a pot. A small pot was literally one cup. A large pot was 3 cups but 5 times the price.

Verified reviewI really love the location, room, views, family atmosphere and ambience of this place. The best value for money in Nepal so far. It makes you feel like you want to stay for a month. The owner will go out of his way to provide good service: tickets, guiding advice/organisation, bag storage. Nothing is a problem. Mr. Bishnu even kept the same room for me after I returned from the trek. This place is very safe for solo females.

Verified reviewAn absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly welcome — the host is truly kind and always ready to help with great local tips. The entire staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The view from our room was breathtaking — waking up to the lake was just magical. The location couldn’t be better, just a short walk to the lake and plenty of great restaurants nearby. I highly recommend this place and would come back in a heartbeat!

Verified reviewThis place is excellent value for money. I stayed in the top room, which had an amazing view and my own private balcony — a real treat! The hotel is on a small hill, which is why the view is so beautiful. It does require a bit of an uphill walk, but I didn’t mind it at all. I really appreciated the thoughtful touches like the free filtered water and sandals, which made me feel very comfortable. The location is great — just a 5 to 10-minute walk to all the restaurants, spas, tour offices, and even the lakeside. The owner and his son were incredibly helpful and even let me store my big backpack for free while I went trekking. I absolutely loved my stay here!

Verified reviewThe room is very clean and well maintained, with beautiful red brick walls. The owner Vishnu is wonderful and kind. It feels like a home away from home. The location is very good - not too close to the busy main road, but not too far either. A short walk down to all the cafes, or a short walk up into the amazing forest. The little balcony has a view of the lake and the mountains.

Verified reviewThe owner, his family, his staff are very welcoming, arranging and also professional. The owner welcomed us with delicious milk coffee waiting for the room, which is always a nice move. The rooms are spacious, clean, smell good and have a balcony with wonderful view of Lakeside, forest and lake. There is free water and you can order some drinks and food. The location is perfect, in a peaceful area but still very close to everything. They can arrange bike rent, and they also do some trekking tours. For the price, just amazing place to stay ! …and they have cute dog and cat 😁

Verified reviewI booked the little pilgrim family lodge last minute upon my arrival at lakeside and was met with kindness and care. It was no problem that I had come last minute and I was made to feel very welcome. I was offered a tea or coffee on arrival which I thought was lovely and the tea was delicious! The room was comfortable and even though there was a thunderstorm I felt very safe and warm in the room. The views overlook the lake and the mountains and there is a lovely balcony to sit on. The bathroom was sparkly clean and there was a lovely hot temperature for the shower. What really made this place shine for me was the host Bishnu and his nephew. They were so kind to me and thoughtful in helping out with anything that I needed even thinking of the things that I required but didn’t realise! The breakfast was absolutely superb as well. I highly recommend staying here and it has been the most memorable stay of my trip to Nepal. Thank you 😇

Verified reviewA truly wonderful place – felt like home! I had an amazing time at this hotel – it was the best stay I’ve had during my entire trip in Pokhara. The place is simply wonderful: spotlessly clean, peaceful, cozy, and beautifully designed. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and everything is cared for with so much love. The owner, Bishnu, is an exceptional person. He and his lovely family treat the hotel like their own home, and you can feel that in every detail. His children are wonderful too – such kind and genuine people. Compared to other places I stayed at before, this one truly stood out. To my great luck, Bishnu is not only the host but also a professional trekking guide and mountaineer with 33 years of experience in the mountains. Since I’m heading to do the Annapurna Circuit solo, I had many questions about logistics, safety, and the route – and he kindly offered detailed advice and shared all the information I needed. He even offered to keep some of my extra belongings at the hotel until I return from the trek, which was incredibly helpful. During one of our conversations, he told me that his team consists of 13 people, including porters and other staff, and all of them lost their families in earthquakes or grew up without parents…Now they all work together, support each other, and have become a family. 🥹That really touched me and gave me even more respect for this place and the people behind it. One small sweet thing: when he saw my iPhone without a case, he brought me one of his own.😅 This place is more than just a hotel – it's a place filled with heart. Thank you!)
