How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewWe had a great stay here. The apartment was exactly like the pictures. The AC worked well and the hot water in the shower was fantastic. The apartment was very clean which was greatly appreciated Check in and check out were a breeze. It’s about a 10-15min walk to the lake. It was nice to have more space than just a hotel room for 6 nights. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place or stay here again.
It wasn’t a problem for us but there wasn’t an elevator in the apartment building we were in so it may be difficult for someone with disabilities.

Verified reviewPerfect Couple's Getaway in Pokhara! We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Pokhara Apartments Inn as a couple. From the moment we arrived, everything felt warm, welcoming, and peaceful. The apartment was beautifully furnished, clean, and thoughtfully designed ideal for a romantic escape. We loved having our own private space with a fully equipped kitchenette, a cozy living area, and a super comfortable bed. The view from our apartment was stunning waking up to the sight of the Himalayas and enjoying our morning coffee on the balcony was unforgettable. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful throughout our stay, always ready to assist with anything we needed, from local tips to transportation. The location was perfect too quiet enough for privacy and relaxation, yet close to Lakeside and all the main attractions. We felt completely at home and didn’t want to leave. If you're looking for a peaceful, private, and comfortable place to stay as a couple in Pokhara, this is it. Highly recommended and we will definitely return on our next visit!

Verified reviewThe property is nice and down an ally so it is more private, and there’s a gate.
The manager, who I believe was also the owner. Right from the beginning the manager asked me if this was my first time in Nepal, I said yes thinking nothing of it. Me and my spouse did the normal check in things, the manager went with us to the room, showed us around, he tried telling me I booked the wrong room and he had to fix it, which I was standing in the exact room, amenities and all, I booked months prior to going there, then immediately demanded we cancel our booking on booking.com. He refused to leave the room until we canceled it. When asked why he said he already charged me downstairs, as if it couldn’t be reversed since I selected to pay at the property anyways. He still refused to leave, became more persistent, and spoke very rudely to me and my partner. I clicked “other” under cancel and wrote “manager request” while he watched over my shoulder and he yelled no and made me erase it repeatedly when I kept telling him the reasons didn’t match what he requested. We avoided him as much as we could the rest of our stay. He then told us part way through when we saw him that if we needed tickets or something booked we should ask him, we just nodded and said ok and continued our own search and getting information from travel agencies because we didn’t trust him, and the few dealings we did have with him, he was always so rude to us. When we asked for transportation to be arranged two days before leaving, it was the manager we had to speak to, we chose a lower cost option he gave as we didn’t care about “luxury”, and he kept yelling at us that he only deals in luxury repeatedly. The night before we were getting ready to leave, he yelled at us that we had to pay 6 k npr more to him if we wanted to leave the next morning, then said it was our fault he couldn’t find transportation because we asked too late. I walked down the road to a travel agency and paid the 6 k npr LESS for the same luxury he tried to force me to pay for, an electric suv with AC.

Our team especially the manager deals with guests from around the world daily and always aims to maintain a professional and courteous approach. If our manager came across as direct or firm during discussions, especially regarding services like transportation, we provided suggestions, including both budget and premium vehicles, and it was your choice to arrange alternatives elsewhere and we booked according to your choice, but you cancelled at the last moment yourself which was also fine and we happily cancelled it without charging any cancellation fee. Finally, we’d like to clarify that offering assistance with tours, tickets, or taxis is a part of our hospitality, not a sales tactic. Many of our guests appreciate these services and find them convenient. While it is unfortunate that there were misunderstandings, we strongly stand by our team’s intent to serve you sincerely and professionally. We hope you enjoyed your time in Nepal despite these issues, and we wish you well in your future travels. Verified reviewThis is the best choice you can make in Pokhara. The apartment is new, clean and cosy and it has everything you might need, including own kitchen and place for work if you are working online. Good backed up internet connection, very nice view on Annapurna mountains from the rooftop. A bit far from the lake, but its manageable 15-min walk distance to all main attractions.
One important thing: There are two buildings with apartments, a new one and older, besides that, there are options with AC and without AC. I got confused when I booked it for the first time as the description wasn’t quite full. Hope the owner will fix it:) otherwise it’s a perfect choice.
