How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Room had broken chair, electric socket, broken bathtub.
Hello, thanks for your review. Please let us clarify that there is no broken chair and electrical socket in the room. The chair cushion can be separated from the chair, it is the style, not broken. And there is the switch on the socket, you need to turn it on to get electricity. And for the bathtub, we are sorry for it, but the shower is fine, there is no impact on shower. The room we provided has good view for the snow mountain. And sorry that we could not compare to big hotel. But as for this price range, consider the view, the room space and the environment, we are one of the best. People who stay in same room before you come and after you come are all very satisfied. Sorry we not meet your expectations, hope you enjoy your stay in Nepal. Thank you!

Dear sir, Thanks for your review. We are sorry that you see one cockroach in the room (it is not several) as it is wild cockroach fly inside the building after raining. And our hotel is BB plan as we provide breakfast only. You requested dinner, even you reached here very late at 10pm, we still prepared your special dinner for you. We do not feel we cheat you on any aspect. And as the owner we serve you, is there any problem? I really do not understand what make you feel hopeless? When we provide dinner time you did not eat with the group. And it is already 1am and you told us that you didn’t eat yet, so we cook again for you.That waiting time let you feel hopeless? We also talked to your other group members, they were satisfied with our food and service. If you have so much demanding then you should book 5 star hotel and you will be satisfied with them. And please never blame booking.com. We are willing to hear about from our guests, anything not good we will improve and we try our best to serve our guests. We are sorry that we do not meet your expectations. It happens sometime, but we do not agree that you say we are cheating people together with booking.com. Anyway we still hope you enjoy your visit in Nepal. For those who read this review, Nepal is still not well developed country, we are still facing so many problems that you never meet in your country, such as the electricity is cut several times per day, government does not supply water to us for more than one week. It is reality, life is not easy everywhere. However we are still proud of Nepal, here has so many beautiful snow mountain, unique culture, nice view and nice people. We are family running hotel and we welcome the guests from all over the world!

Verified reviewAwesome location, serene...walking distance from the lake and market and was easily accessible to restaurants as well. The owners and their family were quite helpful as well and courteous staff.
The power backup option should be there for ACs as well, during summers if it rains and power goes off..then it might make the room stay uncomfortable.

The accommodation was nice and clean......and the staff is very helpful especially the owner lady!!!! She's very prompt in helping and provides solutions very quick. Looking forward for my next visit to Pokhara and staying here again😎👍

Breakfast choices were minimal
Thanks for your review. We provide breakfast choice as toast with hash potatoes, fry eggs; pancake with omelette; porridges; corn flakes; musli; and together served with tea or coffee and fruits. I don’t think the choice is that less. And we try our best to help you in all your request. We provided you flu medicine without any charges and we accompany you to find the fossil stone that you want to purchase. Frankly speaking your score us as 6 is not fair. Anyway thanks again for your review!

Verified reviewThe staff were extremely friendly and helpful - they helped us organise the tourist bus and were always so kind and welcoming. The room was very comfortable - nice, bright and clean. The breakfast in the morning was very good and overall had a wonderful stay here.
The wifi didn't work very well (at least on the fourth floor).
