Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TaiwanIt may be a bit noisy to live in the first floor. If the guest is a bit sensitive to sound or noise, you can tell the workers to see if you can change the room to the second floor. It’s much quieter.
I really enjoyed my stay at Sabila Boutique Hotel. The room is very clean and cozy. The workers are kind and friendly. I especially liked to savor the breakfast in their beautiful garden. I highly recommend this hotel.

SpainThe room was OK for Nepal's standards, the bathroom didn't have a separate shower, which was a bit messy, but it is the common apprach in the country.
The staff was aboslutely amazing and the breakfast delicious. The location was also great

SwedenNothing to say here
The people are fantastic; they will do anything you need so that you have the best stay and holidays. The story and the reason this hotel exists are enough for everyone to want to be part of it. Also, this is THE area to stay in Kathmandu; sometimes, Thamel can be too much.

MaldivesIf we are really looking to split hairs, maybe I would mention the 'relaxed' times at breakfast. It would always take 15/20mins to get food on the table, despite placing the order the night before and setting a time for breakfast. This was slightly nerve-wracking for me as I was in Kathmandu for work and I had a tight schedule to respect, but I guess it won't be a problem if you're there on holiday. Moreover, the wait is perfectly justified by the home-made food and all the preparations happening last minute, to serve you a nice warm breakfast.
- the staff is amazing, always kind and friendly - the location was perfect for me, slightly out of the more touristy areas, in a very calm zone of the city - they offered many breakfasts options, and were all very tasty - Pepe, their dog, is a very polite and distinguished gentleman and the perfect breakfast date ;)

CyprusI really can't think of anything that I would change or improve. It really does deserve 10 out of 10!!!
This really does deserve 10 out of 10 in every area !!!!The actual room we stayed in was lovely and the best shower I have had since staying in Nepall - it was like a power shower with so much hot water! For breakfast you go into a really cute, garden opposite the hotel which is absolutely adorable You can choose anything from the really extensive menu and the quality of the food was excellent. The staff couldn't have been more helpful sorting out taxis and helping us with local information as well as checking that we had everything we needed including asking us if we wanted extra pillows! The location is superb as well within walking distance to all the main sites.

SpainThe hotel is quite close to the stupa yet in a quieter street, which means better sleep. The room I had was quite spacious having all the necessary and when I asked for an extra blanket, they got it really quickly. The room had a kettle and some bottled water, basic amenities of soap, shampoo and toothbrush and toothpaste. There was a small heater also. The room was clean. The breakfast options are very nice and you can take breakfast in a garden, but the first day I was sick, and they did bring it to my room and made me a complimentary tea which was very much appreciated. Staff is very friendly and helpful, they recommended places to eat and where to change money. Overall , a great experience!

ItalyThis is a very cozy hotel in one of Kathmandu's nicest neighborhoods right near the big Buddha Stupa. The room is comfortable and the breakfast is excellent — lots of options, from sweet to salty, served outside in the hotel's pretty garden. It is also close to the airport, around 20 minutes drive depending on traffic. Very nice staff.

Fantastic place to stay in Kathmandu and in the heart of Boudha - (even written up in NY Times! https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2025/02/27/travel/things-to-do-Kathmandu.html). Warm welcome every time and lovely clean and comfortable rooms. Everything in Boudha is within a stroll and the breakfast and coffee at Sabila a lovely start to every morning. The team are so accommodating and flexible, always there to help out. I will be back to stay again.

Clean and well presented the property had everything we needed for our stay of two nights close to the stupa. The staff are friendly and helpful with explaining how to walk to the stupa and even walked most of the way to show how to get there. The breakfast is fresh and delicious pancakes or traditional foods. We would highly recommend staying here.

There is a rooftop terace for morning practice, freshly made breakfast in the garden, perfect location 5mins walk to Boudha Stupa and using only nice tiny streets no big road. And all hotel’s idea is very beautiful. Irs kind of Bodhisatva project.

GermanyThe frame of the bed could be felt through the mattress. But that was no dealbreaker.
The staff was super welcoming and friendly. They made made sure, that I have a fantastic time helped me with all kinds of questions. The breakfast delicious (if you seek a place with good coffee, here it is). Also hot water in the WC. And a big plus: you never run out of bottled water! Also the place in Boudha is (in comparison) very quite and relaxed. It was a great starting point for my nepal journey.
