I stayed 2 nights at Suna House, it’s a traditional Nepalese house on several floors with a rooftop. The place is rather well located, in a local neighborhood close to everything and quiet. Sarita is very welcoming and smilling host, available and full of cultural knowledge and buddhism stories. I had a very pleasant, relaxing and warm stay. I loved listening to Buddhist tales sitting in the typical kitchen during my meals

Very cosy place to stay, simple and clean room which was just what I needed. The best part is how helpful and kind the host is, she will tea and breakfast to feed you up. It’s family owned and the host is so warming, if you need help with buses, suggestions on where to go in Kathmandu - she’ll let you know. It’s a lovely spot, a little far out but a taxi bike ride to the city is easy, or a 10/15 min walk to Patan main square.

Sanu House is the best choice if you want to spend simple Nepal lifestyle. The room was clean and comfortable. The house faces Ringroad but wasn't noisy at night.

I felt sorry when I returned midnight and made the owner wake up to unlock the door.

Sarita is a lovely host and makes you feel very welcome. She helps you with transport and cooks a lovely breakfast. The accomodation is some ways from the central tourist area, but you wouldn’t find a stay like this in Thamel.

    Property response:

thank you so much for coming to stay with us

Basic, comfortable accommodation with lovely hosts and excellent food.

It is situated just off the ring road. Very busy junction but then where in Kathmandu isn't busy?

Sanu’s House is a wonderful, heartwarming experience. For every traveler that enjoys a warm welcome and authenticity, Sanu’s House is the place to stay. Sanu is a kind soul, and personally I think she is the ideal host. She provided me with beautiful stories about Patan’s culture, shared her wisdom, and gave great advice about sightseeing. Also you can feel the love that she puts in the food and tea. Taking care of guests and being a kind person seems to be in her nature. Her presence actually creates the experience. Her stories also made that I could understand Patan’s, Newari’s and Nepalese culture better. This felt valuable. It’s an enriching experience. The location of Sanu’s House is ideal to visit Patan. Everything is on walking distance, and very close to the most authentic places. You can start up your day at the guest house with fresh breakfast, and if you like you can also eat other meals here. I would definitely recommend staying at this heartwarming guest house.

It felt like home. Sarita is the kindest person and a great host. She will make you feel welcomed. She constantly offers tea and roti if available, and her food is just delicious and healthy! The rooms are clean and the house is quiet and perfect to have a good night of rest. Sarita will tell you nice stories about Patan and make you great company while you enjoy your breakfast or dinner. The place is just 13 minutes walking from Durbar Square. Sarita will make sure also that you have everything you need in your room to make your stay comfortable (extra blanket if cold, extra pillow, plug extension).

I liked everything about this place

This place was incredible! Sarita and her family were so welcoming to us. As soon as we arrived Sarita was offering tea and snacks to make sure we were looked after!! The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was really special, lovely local food and unexpected specialities on offer which was a real treat. A short walk only 10-15 mins to the main centre of Patan so good location. A really authentic homestay experience, will definitely return if visiting Patan!

It was the perfect combination of hostel and homestay- felt like part of the family and made friends with other travellers too. The owners are SO lovely and kind and cook incredible cheap food, constantly offering useful advice on getting around. A highlight of our stay theee was being taught to make momos. The room was cute and clean, great little library and a nice view from the rooftop. Location was close to a major bus stop, as well as being walking distance to the sights of Patan. Highly recommend as the perfect authentic Kathmandu experience.

Everything was perfect. The host treated me like s friend and family.

Nothing I can recall. Just a Heather would have been better as Kathmandu is cold. Can't ask much as the price was very reasonable.

This was a comfortable, well-located (close to lovely Patan) guest house with the most fabulous host who was not just a sparkling delight but who was incredibly helpful, wise and supportive. This is the type of place that I will return to because I feel I am part of the family.
