How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe family running the place was nice and our host was very enthusiastic, offering us plenty of places to go hiking. It's close to the World Peace Stupa and plenty of cafes but they all close before dinner time.
During the night's heavy rain storm the roof leaked and water dripped onto one of the two beds, fortunately not the one we were sleeping in but it soaked my trousers that I'd laid on the bed. We ordered the simple breakfast that included an option for pancakes, which my wife requested, but we were told the simple breakfast doesn't include pancakes. Unfortunately, there was a lot of noise. We were told the road outside the hotel was paved a couple of years ago and (so) now there's a lot of traffic, including buses. As if that wasn't bad enough, there was also construction going on next door. We had to close the windows to reduce the noise but there's no A/C so the rooms get hot during the day with the windows closed.

Verified reviewSpotlessly tidy, with incredible views and a lovely garden. We could park our car on premise. The place is far enough from Pokhara not to be bothered by its bustle, yet close enough to reach it when needed. The people working here are genuinely committed to ensure that any of your needs are catered for.

Verified reviewThe staff and owner are kind. The location is quiet in the night. Good and clean room.
feel a bit lack of privacy by the way the staff knock on our door (sometimes we are taking a nap). Would be nice if there could be a do not disturb sign on the door. A bit surprised when the owner asked for an extra 700 rupees service fee during check out. Not a lot of money but wish they could be a bit more upfront about it from the beginning.

Verified reviewExtremely well-connected. They connected us with a great, low-cost trekking guide and went on a spur-of-the-moment week Annapurna trek before coming back to celebrate Christmas. The mountain view from the room was amazing, and the gardens were very nice. A wonderful place to stay for short and long periods.
Hard to get a hot shower. Sound of tourist busses on the nearby road through the day.

Verified reviewBook this hotel for a tranquil stay away from the hustle and bustle! Such a nice retreat with mountain views, beautiful garden, great home cooked food and the rooms were the best i'd stayed in Nepal, quality linen and comfortable beds! The panoramic view of the mountains from bed is incredible!
It was a little cloudy so the solar heating didn't totally warm up one day but the owner said there was a space with warm water (I just had a cold one!)

Verified reviewRoom cleanliness and size were excellent. Had a great night's sleep. Breakfast was great too as was any other food and drink i had, some of which grown on site. Owner and close family friendly and helpful, with transfers, flight booking assistance.
Bathroom had no hot water as solar and cloudy. Toilet seat not fixed and bathroom light flashing. Unfortunately there was no Ayurveda available anymore at the property for a number of years, which was a shame. I understand it is difficult to change a hotel name but Ayurveda, yoga and massage were some of the main reasons i booked. In hindsight, location was a lot further from Pokhara lakeside than expected.

Verified reviewSTAFF: The family and staff is what made my stay so memorable. Ishwor was already waiting for me at the tourist bus stop in Pokhara when I arrived, without me having asked for it! When I said I wanted to stretch my legs a bit first, he dropped me off close to the lake side and we agreed to meet 1,5 hours later. We then drove up to his place together. Ishwor knows the area very well and has great ideas for hiking with or without him. His daugther Susmita and the whole staff were so friendly and helpful throughout, that I really felt welcome and supported! Thank you! BREAKFAST: I had pancakes, fruit and tea almost every time. I liked the pancakes so much that I asked to be shown how they are made. Mairani was so kind as to oblige me and showed me the whole process in the kitchen. LOCATION: I decided on Siddhartha while already in the bus to Pokhara from Kathmandu. I wanted to stay out of the busy center and was considering options north of town along the lake side. I'm very glad I did't book there and chose Siddhartha Garden on the hill above town with an incredible view even from my room and the possibility of taking beautiful hikes right out the door. HIKING: Hiking to Pokhara through the hillside jungle takes a little over an hour passing the Peace Pagoda and is a beautifully quite experience. Occasionally seeing the town through the treas on the way down. Also, walking in a northerly direction instead to cross the river delta and then back south to Pokhara was also an very worthwile experience! This was a nice day hike.
