Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesWe had a wonderful stay at waterside hotel, right on the shore of Pewa lake. The deluxe room was large, had amazing view and a very large balcony. The hotel is run by a lovely family who can help organizing many activities in Pokhara. We hope to return.

AustriaThe hotel has no parking so you need to walk 2 minutes there. But the host helped us with our luggage.
The location by the lake is really nice. A lot of local people come there to watch the sunrise and sunset. The view from the rooms are really nice and each room has a big terrace. The restaurant was also ok and so was the breakfast served to the room. The host was really friendly and responsive.

IndiaThere was not boiling hot water in the bathroom which causes little problem with my 10 months old kid as he was having cough. But there was enough warm water for adults like us to enjoy it.
The location from the room was mesmerizing and food was awesome. We felt like a home stay . My kids enjoyed a lot with owner family. The owner is super helpful and understanding.

United Arab EmiratesBugs in room, many. And i mean many. Ants all over bed, cockroaches roaming the floor and spider in every corner of the room. Staff didn't really care, and they were stingy about money. Which is fair enough, just disappointed that it's highly rated but experience didn't meet basic expectations.

United KingdomFrom the road to the hotel entrance was not a nice walk. It was filled with litter and you had to go through a dirty pedestrian tunnel to get there. The Lake view was good but itcwas a pity about the litter in the view. A few hours collecting litter voluntarily would have made a big difference.
The deluxe room was very good and the bed was very comfy. Hot water came through after about 10 minutes.

IrelandThe noise in what would otherwise have been a lovely place.
There is nothing wrong with this hotel (nice and comfortable building), the staff (very friendly and helpful) nor the location (right on the lake, nice big balcony). It's the other holiday makers that are around that would prevent me from staying here again. Everybody is so noisy.

United KingdomGreat family run hotel and in a beautiful location by Phewa Lake. I booked a balcony room to enjoy and admire the scenic view and I was not disappointed :) Breakfast was yummy and everyone was super friendly and very helpful. I will definitely be returning again in the future as Pokhara is simply stunning and will happily stay at Hotel Waterside again. I would definitely recommend this Hotel to anyone visiting Pokhara as its value for money without compromising comfort. Thanks again 😊

IndiaI recently had the pleasure of staying at Waterside Hotel in Pokhara, Nepal, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the breathtaking view of Lake Phewa right outside the hotel. Waking up to such a serene and picturesque sight each morning was truly rejuvenating. The staff at Waterside Hotel went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was comfortable and memorable. They were incredibly attentive, friendly, and always willing to assist with any requests I had. The hotel manager, in particular, stood out for his exceptional hospitality and professionalism, making me feel welcomed and valued throughout my stay. One of the highlights of my visit was the exceptional food served at the hotel's restaurant. Every meal was a culinary delight, with a diverse selection of dishes that showcased the rich flavors of Nepalese cuisine. I was impressed by the use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients, including produce from their very own organic garden. The rooms at Waterside Hotel were spacious, cozy, and thoughtfully designed, providing the perfect retreat after a day of exploring Pokhara. And what's even more remarkable is the reasonable price for such high-quality accommodations and amenities. Overall, my experience at Waterside Hotel exceeded all expectations. From the stunning views of Lake Phewa to the warm hospitality of the staff and the delicious food, every aspect of my stay was simply exceptional. I cannot recommend this hotel enough to anyone visiting Pokhara. It truly offers a slice of paradise in the heart of Nepal.
