The heating works with a timer so at night it turns off and the room gets cold. Also you need to leave the property at check out which wasn’t very convenient for us as we wanted to use the common areas before we left

No dislikes. Just be aware that if you're on foot, it's about 30 mins walk from town, though that's very achievable as it's mostly flat and a beautiful walk along the lake, and that does have the benefit of putting it nearer That Wanaka Tree and Roy's Peak.

The owners are so friendly, and readily available to answer questions. The property has bikes which are free for guests to use, and a hot tub, both of which really enhanced my stay. The whole place has a really nice atmosphere, and I enjoyed the communal spaces, plus amazing views of the night sky from the garden.

It felt like I was at home! We were welcomed by a lovely man who made us feel safe and comfortable. My favourite things about this stay is the location super close to town, heated spaces and cosy beds.

Loved the easy to find everything kitchen, open fire that was already going and warm in main lounge area, the extra towels if you needed them and the hot spa after a hard day hiking.

Large, functional kitchen accommodating multiple cooks. Slow cooker which we'll be using next time! Everything was extremely tidy, super cosy and comfortable. Little touches like checking into a warm room late at night, so good!

Nothing. More affordable for group stays than couple or solo.

Amazing!! Very clean. Very equipped kitchen. Showers were hot and they even had little towels to wipe your hands in the bathroom. The bedroom was very nice and warm. Laundry was reasonably priced. We will go back!

The property is located a bit outside the town center, but still not far from the lake and the famous That Wanaka Tree. The place is very well-equipped, especially the kitchen—which had an impressive amount of utensils and appliances, more than enough for any kind of cooking. The shared common area was beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable.

Nothing to change

We loved Altamont lodge, with it's secret TV snug and hot tub. Everything was cleaned to the highest standards and we were left to our own devices which is ideal when you're staying in a multi room property. We also enjoyed that it had an authentic ski cabin feel (even though we weren't in Wanaka to Ski).

Worth to stay. Although is shared bathroom, it provides all necessary services. Rooms are acceptable with the offered price. Pantry is big. Has own car park around the lodge compound. Location is easy to find and just 300m to The Lonely Tree. I would say it is not a bad stay at all. Stargazing everywhere.

Seemed the management team where do you go on holidays and there was no open fire/slow combustion fire happening in an area where ambience of a fire was a must

Immaculately presented not a thing out of place, enjoyed that you could chat to other guests in a communal lounge room, kitchen facilities were spot on and amenities were very clean. The room was very compact but warm and tidy.
