Thank you for your detailed review! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay and found our facilities convenient and well-equipped. If you had mentioned that the step leading to the bathroom were causing concern, we do have night lights available to make nighttime visits easier. For future stays, please note that all our rooms are equipped with hush glass. When the doors and windows are closed, it effectively blocks out noise, ensuring a peaceful sleep. Glad you enjoyed our central location. When you booked through booking.com you would have seen the clearly stated notice in red and bold that states " OOps! Only children 8 years and older can stay here” along with a link to alternative properties in Paihia for young families. Unfortunately, you choose to ignore this and did not mention that you had a baby with you, which meant there was a third person. We would have been well within our rights to decline the booking, redirect you to another motel and still retain your payment as a late cancellation fee. However, considering you were from overseas and we are accommodating New Zealanders, we allowed you to enjoy our hospitality. In hindsight, we should have referred you to another motel. Again, we reiterate that as responsible accommodation providers and to meet the Fire & Security regulations we must have the correct registration detail logged in our system. Your booking details were incorrect. In light of the allowances made, we are very disappointed that you have felt it necessary to give us such a low score, especially when given extremely positive feedback from our other reviews. It is evident to us and all who read your review that the negative feedback is unjustified and seems to stem from the fact that we uncovered the issue.
