Honestly- nothing.

Everything was marvellous. The view from every room was spectacular and having a store and restaurant next door made it impossible to leave. My husband made good use of the private jetty for fishing and caught quite a few lovely Snappers- he had the time of his life! Although the boathouse is gorgeous and the facilities top- notch, what really bowled us over were the extras we did not expect. All the thoughtful ideas to ensure their guests have the best time - from stocking different types of coffee and tea, to having bottled water ready for our arrival, to having fishing rods for our use. We booked it as a special treat for our son's 21st and loved it so much we will book it to celebrate my husband's birthday as well.

Some might not like the proximity to the car ferry... I found it very entertaining watching the antics aboard!!..

The location is very unique and with the new jetty attached will make it great fun, especially for families. The attention to detail with everything is fabulous. I can't fault the place. Even an outdoor plug to charge an EV with your own cord.

Unique and spacious, marine vibe accommodation over the water, next to the Opua car ferry dock. The Landing had everything we needed for a quiet and comfortable stay. Exceptional views and the grocery store and two restaurants were walking distance. The fish and chip shop was very good. A great location to explore the Bay of Islands area.

The boat house is unique and we loved our stay at On The Landing. The views over the bay are stunning. All facilities you need are available, including a Nespresso machine and laundry. The beds are very comfortable and the whole place is spotless. We didn’t mind the ferry coming and going from early morning to 10pm. It added to the atmosphere and didn’t disturb us.

The fridge was not plumbed for water. Not a biggie

Location is brilliant. Right next to the Opua car ferry which provides a bit of movement and interest as the ferries come and go. All rooms were spacious. Kitchen had everything you could need. Bathroom was lovely with spacious shower and underfloor heating. Beds very comfy and cosy. We even caught a few fish from the deck. A bonus for us was the Allpress coffee from the nearby General Store

If you wanted eternal peace and serenity, this is probably not the place to stay. Opua is a working port and the unit is directly beside the car ferry. We loved this aspect (but others may not) - it provided endless entertainment watching the comings and goings but the ferry makes noise (7am-10pm). It all depends on your tastes….

Beautifully situated over the water at Opua, the veranda views are unsurpassed. Our hosts were fantastic and very accommodating. They have considered every need in setting up the unit. The sounds of water lapping under foot lull you to sleep.

We had to leave.

Everything was great. My husband had an accident over 3 years ago which left him with a brain injury. Staying here was a great rehabilitation for him for all of us. A big thank you to Chris and John.

Beds were a bit firm for us.

Location was awesome. Ferry does work all day next door but we liked it as there was always something going on. Can fish straight off the deck and catch! Clean and tidy. Will be back but will probably stay at the apartment a bit more and enjoy the bay.

The property is directly adjacent to where the vehicle ferry pulls in. This was not an issue for us, but might be for anyone looking for something maybe romantic or very peaceful. It is a short drive from Paihia.

This apartment is as good as the pictures make it look. Excellent setting, space and facilities. The open plan kitchen feels amazing to be in and rhe front balcony over the water is gorgeous.

Great location, even the ferry next door wasn't a bother. Bedrooms nice and big, bathroom was a great size, with heated floor. The kitchen, dining and lounge were all a good size with great views over the water. Even fishing rods, although we didn't use them. I would definatly stay here again. Highly recommended

The property was good but would have preferred it but further distance from the ferry service as it seemed to running every few minutes and noisy also did not feel very private as when you sit on deck people kept looking.

Really close to the ferry, ok during the day just took a bit of getting used to with it running until 10pm, I didn’t realise it was quite so close.

Bathroom floor flooded a little with shower on full. Avoidable with lower shower pressure Ferry activity next to apartment created a little noise but not too bad Foot noise from apartment above could be heard below.

Lovely view over the water. Felt a little like being on a boat- large front deck and low ceilings. Ample space.
