Quiet location close to beach and shops

This is my third stay here, and even the second stay they recognised me and greeted me by name. Comfort and location wise I would absolutely recommend it to anyone staying in Takapuna.

The only downside was arriving after hours. It was hard to find the room, especially as arrow was pointing in wrong direction so I went the whole way around, and didn't know if up or downstairs.

Absolutely nothing.

Lovely grounds , nice ambiance, well maintained swimming pool even in winter which enabled lovely cold water swim.Quiet, comfortable rooms , ground floor face towards garden area which is very pleasant with tropical plants.Very close to beach and cafes restaurants.

The pool is not heated at this time of the year :( They said they it will be heated in October if I am not mistaken. The shower I think is an old style as it is attached to wall and you can't move it around. There's no centralised heating so you have to use the portable heater around the room and to the living room.

It's a great hotel! Feels like we are in Hawaii or tropical vibe place. I like the location as it is 3mins walk to Bruce Mason Center - great for attending an event. It is also near the Takapuna Beach. The staff are so friendly especially with our requests. They remove rubbish and change towels everyday. The room has complete kitchen facilities so we're able to cook food.

The Takapuna Beach. Very handy to Bruce Mason Centre for the late night show we watched. The award winning restaurant, Nanam Restaurant is just around the corner too. Detailed check in process. Love the comfy bed, quiet location and the Ecostore products!

We stayed for 3 days. 3 adults and received a small milk carton on arrival. On the second day we asked for another as there was only enough milk for a few teas and coffees. Were told the milk is only given to guests when they arrive and a second wasn't available. I think the lady saw the look on my face and said she would see if she had a spare?. Pretty stingy as I doubt it would cost more than $2 The bed was super bouncy and too soft for my liking. The gardens are stunning, tropical feel and would be great in the summer but the room was very dark as the plants block out all sunlight.

Good location and kitchen and bathroom were very good and the room was spotless.

We were a bit cold; thankful for the heater but would’ve appreciated a heat pump. Parking was TIGHT!!

Loved the setting! Gorgeous gardens! Very quiet. Appreciated the fabulous strong flow shower & quick hot water. SMALL !! bedroom but nicely furnished.

The TV in the room didn't work and there was no access to Netflix or any other media entertainment.

The location is amazing and the room was lovely. The staff were professional and polite. The shower water pressure was great too.

Everything was great.

The Emerald Inn really is a beautiful oasis in a fantastic location. The bed linens were very elegant and the unit was spotless. We were able to check in early for which we were very grateful after a long drive. Shops, cafes and the Bruce Mason theatre are all just a short walk from the hotel.

Car parking very tight spaces, especially if parking next to external staircase.

Awesome location, central for everything. Never needed to use the car, walking distance to beach, local cafés, shops & entertainment 😀 Plenty of very hot water. Room warm 'n cosy

An amazing jewel tucked away in Takapuna! The tropical-style gardens made it feel like we were in the Cook Islands—so peaceful and relaxing. It was incredibly quiet, offering the perfect escape. The staff were exceptional—warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. Best of all, it's within easy walking distance of town, the beach, and the Bruce Mason Centre. Couldn't have asked for a better location or experience
