The owner was sooo lovely and treated us to an upgrade AND a late checkout, for free! So sweet! The room was comfortable, very clean, had a very powerful heat pump, good water pressure and all the facilities we needed. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything so we made breakfast in the morning before eating it on the balcony in the sunshine overlooking the Haruru falls. Superb!

We stayed here for3 nights in one of the 2 bedroom apartments while exploring the bay of islands. Michael was such a delight! He looked after us so well and thought of every little thing. Lovely little touches here and there that made it feel special. Great value for money and an excellent location! Will definitely stay again.

Wonderful upstairs 2 bedroom apartment with sweeping river, falls, territorial view. Spacious accommodation, more than we are used to. Kitchenette, balcony with loveseat and dining table for 4. Lounge chairs on the waterfront and pool (currently being serviced and unavailable). Mr. Michael is an exceptionally nice host with plenty of local knowledge and suggestions for regional activities. Perfect place to unwind.

Michael the host was a real pleasure, very professional, warm and friendly and willing to assist us with our holiday adventures, making valuable suggestions on what to do, how to get from one spot to another, and booking our bay of island cruise to hole in the rock for us. Highly recommend Michael as one of the top hosts we've ever met.

The only thing that was obvious was a bit of a musty smell, but we popped the air conditioner on to dry and this dissipated after a few hours. No doubt this was due to being right next the waterfall.

For us, this was all about the location. We had a view of the falls from right outside our bedroom door, the gardens were beautiful, and it was close enough to the town (~3.5km) for easy access. There is a great trail nearby, too - good for running or walking. The property was undergoing some maintenance, and the pull wasn't full, but we can see that ordinarily, this would be lovely. There is no measure to just how friendly and helpful the proprietor is - Mike is simply an amazing host. The facilities in the room were quite adequate, if not entirely luxurious, and there were a few unexpected commodities given to us when we checked in - just a few neat extras that showed kindness and thought. More importantly, the room was clean and well maintained.

Stunning location. Michael was so friendly and accommodating for our 8 month old. It's definitely a place you could spend a good week or 2 and not get bored. A great place for a family holiday. Will be back.

The lighting is poor with various switches all around the room. Tv only has live programs so nothing extra provided.

Easy to find, quiet considering it’s on a main road, quick and easy to get to Paihia. Plenty of parking available. The Phat brewery is 150m away has great food and beer. The pool was clean and inviting although didn’t use it. Spacious unit with a couch for tv watching. Manicured grounds were clean and tidy. Each room has additional outdoor seating which is nice and a nice outlook to the falls. Staff were friendly.

Not specifically something we didn't like, because we were upgraded. Our original booking was for a ground floor studio, which is on the level of the parking area on one side and of the BBQ/pool area on the other. Those ground floor apartments are likely to be noisy and to lack privacy. So it is well worth being on the upper floor!

Our upgrade to a first floor, 2 bedroom, self-catering apartment in this two-storey motel was most welcome. Apart from the extra space, the outlook from the balcony was excellent, looking across the river. The manager was very friendly and helpful. There are good onsite laundry facilities ($). Parking and access was easy. The motel has a small pool and offers kayaks for use on the river (although we didn't use either of these). The nearby craft brewery provides excellent food options (and great beer!).

The host greeted us in a very welcoming fashion. We said we were there for our anniversary and the host went into his kitchen and gifted us a nice bottle of wine. The unit we stayed in was exceptional. Clean and tidy with a view overlooking the waterfalls.

Nothing, it was great

The apartment, although a little small had most things we needed and clean. The spa bath was a great touch. The view from the hotel was fantastic and the pool looked great lit up at night. Staff were friendly and kept in touch with us throughout our booking and went the extra mile to help us when we had to add extra people to the booking at short notice. I would definitely come back for a longer time next time
