Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaBathroom shower sprayed water everywhere (had to point shower into corner to reduce spray but harder to wash) and heater above main bed clicks. Noise carriers between rooms.
Good sized lodge. Kitchen had kettle and toaster and crockery to make own food. Comfortable beds with electric blankets.

United StatesThis part is not to be included in a public spot. I did not like seeing stuff stacked outside units. Housekeeping and buckets need to have homes inside closets. Unit 6 looked out at a bunch of stuff at a house.
Location. But traveling mid week during the fall lots of places are closed.

Czech RepublicA bit old fashioned interior. When we arrived, the room was cold and it took a while to heat up. We would have appreciated a comfortable temperature upon arrival.

SingaporeThe water pipe was outside room so always can wear water flow sound when in use.
Convenient location at fox glacier, with hot tub and DIY breakfast. Staff even organise free glow worm visit near the park, that was even better than going to the cave.

AustraliaWe did assume there were views of the mountains from the lodge, based on pictures we had seen but there wasn’t from our cabin.

United StatesThe facility host was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was ample. The host, unexpectedly to us, led those staying at the lodge on a 40 minute night walk to see glow worms. It was a great experience. The room was good-sized and included a sofa as well as the bed.

AustraliaThe freezer was frozen over and couldn’t be opened. The room had a lot of dust which exacerbated my son’s asthma and made me sneeze every night. There were no power points in the bathroom. The fireplace is for show, as there are instructions to use the air conditioning for heating only.
The nightly glow worm tour was awesome! The breakfast room was a different little touch. If your are taking a holiday tour from Fox Glacier, it’s walking distance to most operators, so super handy.

United StatesGreat location to town. The rooms are clean, quiet and away from the road. The entry steps to the office as well as the steps into our room need replacement soon. They are uneven and worn. The guided glow worm talk in the evening was a bonus. The guide was very informative and gave ample warning of terrain while walking in the dark.the unit is a loft so you need to manage stairs at night to use the restroom . The on site laundry was a bonus.

United KingdomNegatives: Breakfast had more of a communal self catering feel. The local area is hyper-touristy so good value food options were limited.
Positives: Location for glacial activities; room quality; value for money.

United StatesGood place to stop while exploring the West Coast. Modest, self-serve communal breakfast was nice way to meet other travelers. Glowworms can be seen on a nearby trail just up the road. However, the staff who lead our evening walk seemed annoyed with having been tasked with the outing and rushed through the walk, leaving many of us behind on an unfamiliar path in the dark. A trail map to explore independently would have been much better.
