The house was very cold. Room had a heat pump so that was fine; just something to bear in mind in winter. A little TLC needed in the ensuite but functional and otherwise OK. Communication was a challenge with only limited English being spoken by the host. For social guests this is awkward but if you like keeping to yourself then this is a good choice. Consider adding to the description so that guests are forewarned.

Location was perfect for what I needed. Room was fine and bed comfortable. Host was friendly, pleasant and welcoming. Reasonably priced with free wifi.

Not too easy to find, some kind of indicator / sign outside would help!

The room was a good size and the kitchen and living room were spacious as well. It is in a very quiet neighbourhood. We got there by taxi and when we left we took a local bus into Hamilton centre, fairly easy and we found a good Indian restaurant nearby.

The host couple are fluent Chinese (Mandarin) speakers with very limited English, so communication was managed by Google translate, and texting, and by speaking with a younger family member when he was available. Location was about 7km from Hamilton CBD.

Nice king ensuite room about 1km from Waikato University. Helpful family who were patient and willing to accommodate my needs as a long-distance cyclist. Excellent value for money.

I wasn't aware it was a home-share, but that's on me. The family were extremely kind and friendly. The room is spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Shower was great too. The only issue I had was when I arrived I thought I was lost, as there was no signage.

I have now stayed in over 10 properties as a guest in a someone else's house and in none of the others was it apparent that someone was living there.

A much newer property than others that I have stayed in at this price point and I had an en-suite too which was a bonus. The room size was good, the bed was clean and comfortable and the ensuite was clean. Guests have access to the kitchen and a good size lounge with tv. I had little interaction with the host. This property is on a newish small development a short way out of town.

Should have read the reviews before booking as I was not aware this was a home share. Don’t recommend this place at all. the heat pump was constantly ticking, the bed was as hard as a brick, we only stayed 2 of our 3 nights as we were not getting any sleep from the fact the bedroom door also did not lock and the bed was unbearable.

Bed was extremely uncomfortable, it didn't mention in the listing that it was a homestay / boarding house so the owner was living at the same house at me in the next room. Was a bit weird, and one morning came into the kitchen to make a coffee and there was rubbish all over the bench. The worse part was it felt like I was sleeping on a chopping board had such a sore back both mornings

This is a family house you enter via the main door and walk thru the common rooms to the rented rooms at the rear of the house. There is no balcony, it is a single level house and there is no private entrance which are both misinformation to the listed facilities. Room can not be secured when out due to no available key to operate the push button lockable door handles.

Place was clean and tidy. The family friendly but communication was limited without the presence of the son, who was not readily available.
