It’s was cold. They are turning off the heater during the day, it’s 18 degree in the room so If you wanna hang out in your bed, you’ll freeze. We had to ask every single day to change the heater in the evening (they are happily doing it!). The kitchen is very cold as well and the bathroom even worse, not really pleasant to take a shower in the cold (used the upstairs one if you want hot water!!)

Pretty much everything. The room was clean and isolated. Common area are cleaned and maintained. The staff is nice. Stayed there for a week end and enjoyed it. A bit far of a walk to the city center. Free parking spot. And two cats.

The fully automated check-in system is a bit confusing. I wish the explanations were clearer and the automated mail system that gives you critical codes for the check-in faster (we booked just half an hour before arriving and the email with the codes had not reached us when we arrived).

Staying in an actual former jailhouse is such a fun and unique experience! There are a few cells, window displays and information panels that show the history of the place, it almost feels like staying at a museum - in the best way possible. You're literally staying in jail so expect your room/cell to be tight. Right now in winter, cells and the main hall are a bit cold, even though there are electric heaters. But every cell comes with extra duvets and a rubber hot water bottle so we could sleep nice and cozy.

It was cold. I did ask to have the heater turned up but it didn't make much difference. The bathrooms are very cold too.I understand that heating this building must be difficult but it would be so much nicer with warm rooms. If you are tall the toilets will be a problem - your knees will hit the door.

The beds were comfortable and the history of the place is fascinating. The kitchen is small but has everything you need. The communal area down stairs is heated well.

Bathrooms were very cold (I guess this comes with it being an old building, but not great during winter!), the wifi didn’t work whilst sitting on the bed but that was explained due to the thick prison doors, parking was always full and hard to get a space.

Very cool place where they’ve really made the most of the “jail” experience, nice big communal areas, wifi worked well outside of the bedroom, free parking, lovely helpful staff, let me leave my luggage there when I arrived early before check in

Not very convenient located. Toilet stalls are super tiny and have a step in it. Nothing to put your clothes on in the showers. Few sinks. No lights in the beds.

It’s a unique experience. Super friendly staff. Big kitchen. Lots of sitting room outside the rooms. Two cats outside. Free parking.

The lack of available parking. Unfortunately we had to park quite far away from the Jailhouse as all the parking spaces were full. Bit of a pain with luggage, food etc. They also need to put a female only toilet on the ground floor.

Great experience, fully equipped kitchen, cells were fun! Lots of cool historical information around the building. Great TV lounge and chill out spaces.

The mattress had springs digging in my back. I turned it over the next night, and also bought a yoga mat from a nearby op shop, so that helped.

A lot of homeless people on the streets around at night asking for money. Not the problem of this hostel but doesn't make you feel too safe out at night. It would be good to have a female bathroom on the ground floor

Mattress is a bit old. You can feel the spring. Toilet cabine upstairs are narrow. Other than that, everything else was great.

As warned the wifi is patchy in your cell. The accomodation can also be quite cold and the heating in your cell is controlled centrally. There were extra blankets in each cell though which I was grateful for.

Such a cool place for accomodation! There are even notes around the prison to tell you about the history of the place. The staff were lovely! Beds comfy. Would stay again.

Temps were cold in the common areas (kitchen & bathrooms). Appears to be no heat in these spots, plus the windows were left open for ventilation, which further dropped the temps.

Easy checkin, friendly staff & comfortable beds. Able to adjust temperature in each room. Hot showers/plenty of water pressure.

The showers and toilets could be up graded. A bit dated. My 2nd stay someone vomited in one of the showers and wasn’t cleaned up for over a few hours.

It was my 2nd time to stay here. Both times came down for the rugby league games at Apollo Stadium which is on a 15 minute walk. Also all the bars and restaurants are very close. Jailhouse is very convenient .

The park next door had random people at night screaming . Felt very secure in my room ! Shower hot but a fixed head, I prefer a slide shower. Busy so parking was full

Proximity to Wolfbrook arena excellent . Price excellent . Morning Sun in room and the history of the place fascinating. Very clean and plenty of space . Checkin seamless

Spacious with good facilities. It was good for a one night stay. Armed late evening and left early next morning so pretty much just a bed for the night , so can't make much comments.

Fun place to stay. Nice set up with communal spaces. Our cell was very clean and we slept really well.

One of our two mattresses in our bunk bed was very bad (could feel the springs/quite uncomfortable). The other was fine. Left a note at check-out suggesting they replace the mattress.

Well equipped & organized kitchen, uniqueness of the place, lots of books to choose from, showers & bathroom clean & good.
