Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandMaybe a slightly softer bed, but I kind of expected a hard one as that tends to be the norm.
The fact that you felt part of the family as soon as you walked through the door!

I really appreciated how clean the facilities were and how everything was well-organized for me before I arrived, which made the whole experience smooth and welcoming. Also like the hens, pigs, oranges and everything there

New ZealandPerfect accommodation. A very spacious and comfortable two bedroom stand alone house. Very clean and supplied with everything you could want, especially in the kitchen. Shower had excellent water pressure. The spa bath looked very good though we didn't use it. The beds were comfortable and the wardrobes were useful. Pretty view of the organic orchard from all the windows. A lovely welcome when we arrived. A very easy drive to Kerikeri, just around the corner.

IrelandThe rooms in the main lodge didn't lock. This may have been unnerving but I felt safe regardless and comforted by Klaus' presence. A British boy did wander into our room on the last night talking about Bristol cricket club and a strong innings from Jock McKenzie. While it made for a strange experience his offering of 'table tomatoes' cut through any potential tension.
A wonderful stay with Klaus in relax a lodge. Facilities were kept very clean. A bonus to have received free fruit from local orchards that were organic and had not been sprayed with any of those chemicals 🤮. Helpful signs in the bathroom ensured I was urinating correctly and with the appropriate level of cleanliness and excitement 👍

New ZealandThe shared bathroom with shower has big window and door that are tempered glass. I wasn’t comfortable showering because you can see outside and inside.
Clean, good location and nice hosts. I stayed in shared accommodation - had my own room but shared bathroom and other amenities (kitchen, lounge). My bedroom had a comfy bed and big wardrobe with shelves for my clothes and luggage. Also, it had lots of mirrors and two power outlets.

New ZealandWe struck a very wet patch of weather during our 3 day stay. There were no spoutings on the roof, and the sound of rain dripping off the roof kept me awake.
What a nice cottage! We were nicely impressed with the facilities. The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed.

United KingdomNot a problem for us as we had a car, but important to note that this property is not in the centre of Kerikeri so having access to a car is very recommended.

United StatesI would bring a natural mosquito repellent next time, but that's to be expected in an orchard. I only ever closed the curtain (not the exterior door), so it's mostly my fault. I was there 5 nights, and it didn't bother me enough to go buy any... (or shut the door!) 😃
Open, airy, EXTREMELY clean!! I can't say enough good. Staff/owners very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again, and I hope I have an opportunity to do that!! There are some long term guests also staying in the Main House, and they couldn't have been nicer!! I'm a solo female traveler in my mid 50s. I felt very safe and comfortable. I liked being in the Main House to I could talk to others whenever I felt like socializing. Sign next to toilet in bathroom is hilarious 😂

New ZealandNot sure why, but the gas was turned off and we took a cold shower. Flipped the switch back on outside the cottage and all was good. Back to hot showers again.
The place was full of peace and relaxation. Love the orchard, the friendly dogs, the funny pigs, and curious chickens on the property. Felt very private in our cottage too!

United StatesNA (it was perfect)
Wonderful property off a main road with a huge orange orchard, cute pigs, and adorable chickens (who follow you around!). Loved that there was always a dog or guests roaming around, but it was still extremely quiet and laid back. Klaus, the proprietor, is a fantastic host who loves to chat while he goes about his day. 10/10 experience, can’t wait to come back!!
