Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainThe hot tub was not in service though we had just received an email telling us the hours we could use it.
The setting was stunning. Awesome having a woodburning stove.

New ZealandIf you click bringing a dog make sure it's a lap dog they don't accept bigger dogs and there was no hot running water but we didn't really care about that, you can't complain for the price and you could jump into the hot tub after
Best value for money you'll find! great location and a very cool set up. The people there are great for any advice, the place was very generous with supplies, you respect the place you'll get respect in return

New ZealandNot been informed beforehand about toilet not working, no internet, though did advertise free WiFi available in all area's, but not the case, as weather not good was hoping to watch a movie, couldn't, a wellness area, didn't see one.
A warm welcome, nice continental breakfast. On a lovely property. Nice and close to the pancake rocks. 40min drive from Greymouth.

New ZealandChemical toilet. Was stated in room description but smelled more than we expected. Haven't had one before so maybe this is normal. Living and bathroom divided by wall but would be better if this went all the way to the ceiling. Whole space gets lit up when turning bathroom light on at night.
Hosts were lovely (they were looking after the place while owners were away). Comfy bed, kitchen was adequate. Insect screens installed which was appreciated. Nice place.

New ZealandClose to the road so a bit of road noise. We stayed during warm, dry weather. Might be a bit damp in the pop-top during West Coast rain.
We stayed in the pop-top caravan. It is what it is! Comfortable for a short stay. Great having access to the hot tub.

New ZealandIt's very close to the main dwelling so if you want privacy you may be disappointed.
Nice location, a sliver of a seaview. Hot tub was good. The owners use 'houseminders' to look after this property, in our case they were very nice and helpful.

New ZealandThe private entrance for this room still needs to be accessed from inside the house.. It also goes in the the bathroom and none of the doors lock. I was on a honeymoon with my husband so it felt a bit awkward ;) but great for one night stay.
The property was very peaceful and the house was beautiful. Our temporary hosts were great and we had a lot of great conversations with them - They made sure the place was up and running and even made some improvements to the property. The bed was comfy

AustraliaMake sure you fuel up for the journey though as petrol stations are few and far between on this part of the West Coast.
This quiet beachside property is great for anyone travelling along the West Coast. The property is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay, including a fire and a hot tub. The resident free-range chooks are a super sweet addition to an already lovely place to stay. We were super grateful for Greg’s suggestion that we visit Pancake Rocks on our way out, which were absolutely magnificent and should not be missed!

New ZealandYou need cash, which we were happy to oblige to (although it would be much more efficient if they took the card! NZ businesses even surcharge users 2%+ when they use a card so it really shouldn’t be an issue to make it more convenient for customers) . We were planning on getting cash at a local ATM, but there is none in Punakaiki so you need to drive about 30 minutes to the nearest town. Given the price of gas, and how we had been driving a lot in the past few days, it was an unecessary hassle and wish we had been told beforehand (they mention you need cash, but not that the local town doesn’t have an ATM). Also, the property is near the beach but walking to it is not ideal; we were told it’s best to drive to the beach (mushy marsh because of the heavy rain). Not a big deal, but we were hoping to take a lovely stroll to the beach with the kids from the accommodation . Finally, the town of Punakaiki doesn’t have a grocery store. Again, absolutely fine, but good to know in advance if you don’t want to pay 2$ an apple at the restaurant - or Koru could include apples or bananas with breakfast?
The family room is big. The beds are comfortable. The fireplace is lovely, and so is the tub (and the cold plunge if you decide to go for it ;) Listening to the sound of the waves from the unit is nice, and so is the outdoor picnic table. The breakfast is basic but does the trick. The location is not far from the town.
